The Kentucky county clerk facing potentially stiff penalties for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses has been married four times, raising questions of hypocrisy and selective application of the Bible to her life.
The marriages are documented in court records obtained by U.S. News, which show that Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis divorced three times, first in 1994, then 2006 and again in 2008.
She gave birth to twins five months after divorcing her first husband. They were fathered by her third husband but adopted by her second. Davis worked at the clerk's office at the time of each divorce and has since remarried.
Davis has described her desire to strictly adhere to the Bible in stark terms and thus far has shown no sign of bending to court orders on same-sex marriage. She said Tuesday she fears going to hell for violating "a central teaching" of the Bible if she complies with the orders.

It’s both. Her objections are on religious grounds, and people are trying to discount her viewpoint because of past sin, therefore the discussion of forgiveness of sin is very relevant.
Either this reporter did not do their homework or they are being deliberately deceptive - if she became a Christian in 2011 then how was she being selective in applying the Bible to her life in the decades before that? She probably wasn't applying it at all then. U.S. Snooze and World Distort.
It’s the topic of the article.
I’ve lusted in mind only, or some liberal crap like that!
It sure is. Nothing less. 100% una-Saul-terated facism.
That is the question (almost all are not asking( as pertains to the charge of hypocrisy.

her conversion to Christianity [was] about four years ago - http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2015/09/01/kentucky-clerk-fighting-gay-marriage-has-wed-four-times
Y’know, maybe someone who’s been married 4 times knows the pain of sexual infidelity, whether it’s fornication or Sodomy.
“”The ladys taken a stand. More than I can say for McConnell or Boehner. “”
EXACTLY. She’s actually standing firm, for now. We’ll see what the future holds but I’m giving her serious kudos for what she’s doing currently.
Right. Secular law can't serve as our moral exoskeleton.
By comments on all the articles I have read, I find it funny how all the liberal haters automatically assume she is a “fundie republican” when she is actually a democrat... I don’t really know her heart and also don’t care as it is between her and God, but from her statement, I heard today, she was saved after she started going to church after her mom died 4 years ago... If she asked to be forgiven for sinning in her life before she knew what she was doing was wrong... I think she will be alright. I am supporting her on this issue and praying for her.
An imprisoned Martyr will badly damage their cause. They are right to fear that. It could provoke a powerful backlash.

There are times when your opinion on things differs from my own. (Not a problem, just part of being two different people.) But it's really good to see that there are a few of us left who understand that the Constitution at its very core is an expression of Judeo-Christian morality.
We are enjoined against not establishing any particular sect as a national religion, but the incorporation of religious practice and principle is at the very heart of our American Culture and our Constitutional socio-political order.
(And that is why we cannot afford to tolerate those "religions" that have at their core the destruction of our social and religious order. That means You, Moslems.)
It’s not. The topic of the article is a 1st amendment, constitutional issue. Yes, there is the underlying issue of the charge of “hypocrisy” against her by some, but that is not legally relevant.
None of this is relevant to her freedom of religion. As for the alleged hypocrisy, she says she became a Christian four years ago. Becoming a better person than you used to be after accepting Jesus is not hypocritical, it’s normal for adults (but not for liberals).
So YOU are perfect, right?
