Donald Trump met privately in New York on Tuesday with Javier Palomarez, the CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, CNN has learned.
The meeting took place at Trump's midtown Manhattan office in Trump Tower and lasted more than an hour, Palomarez told CNN. The conversation centered around immigration and the Hispanic electorate.
"It's kind of interesting, the dichotomy between the private Donald Trump and the public Donald Trump. He listened a lot more than he spoke," Palomarez said. "He never once interrupted me."
At one point, Palomarez said Trump joked that "he didn't need the Hispanic vote" as he referenced his high poll numbers.
"But I think we both know that he's recognized that in fact, he does need the Hispanic vote," Palomarez added.
He said Trump earnestly expressing his desire to win over the Hispanic community, saying: "I want it. I feel like I've been mischaracterized and treated unfairly and my name has been slandered to some extent with this audience."

When does he meet with the Anglo-Saxon Protestant Chamber of Commerce?
I lived in California for 17 years.
Not once did I ever hear a Mexican, legal or otherwise, refer to themselves as “hispanic.” Not once.
The US Chamber already met with Jeb, and they are all in.
I wonder why there is a chamber of commerce based on race?
Following the meeting, Palomarez said they two men still did not see eye-to-eye on immigration, though he referred to the chat as a “thoughtful conversation.”

That’s good to know. And it’s not about immigration, it’s about upholding the law.
How true, and another thing you will never see them wave is that Hispanic flag, and the American flag just a tad more than that.
“When does he meet with the Anglo-Saxon Protestant Chamber of Commerce?”
EZ WINNER
LOL

Javier Palomarez is fantasizing that Donald Trump needs the Hispanic vote. Teaming up with Ted Cruz, Donald will win the presidency by a landslide. And he will also carry a large portion of the Hispanic American vote who polls show more than 40% are in support of Trump and growing. Also Ted Cruz carried 40% of the Latino vote in Texas when he ran, whereas Romney only carried 26% in 2012.
You would think something like that would be over by the late 70s.
it is written “code”
Hispanic means legal immigrant
Latino means illegal immigrant.
Trump is right that he will likely not need the Hispanic vote. He may end up getting it though. A lot of Hispanics don’t like the illegals.
Go Trump!!!! 2016
Trump doesn’t usually do 1 hr meetings (15 mins is std) so this must have been an important outreach.
There's flag for people who speak Spanish?
Your right....he was probably there to kiss Trump’s butt and after Trump’s reply, had to sneak off to the rest room to make himself presentable again....
My thoughts exactly. These are by definition racist.
Thomas Sowell wrote about something similar in his book `Black Rednecks and White Liberals’.
Freed African Americans who settled in the north were embarrassed by new immigrants who came up from the south in the first part of the last century.
However, they were what the 14th amendment (and 13th and 15th) was passed to protect. These `civil war’ amendments were never intended to protect illegal invaders and their get.
Only those from Hispaniola, at least that's the only place I ever figured hispanics would come from (yes I know we call it Haiti and the Dominican Republic now)
Your opinion is supported already by several polls of Hispanics. They view Trump favorably by a majority.
