The GOPe Road Map is contingent upon all 10 candidates that are part of Team Jeb remaining in the race until various points within the primary. Nine of the candidates are party insiders recruited to act as early primary state splitters (Gilmore -VA, Pataki -NY, Graham -SC, Perry -TX, Kasich -OH, Rubio -FL, Huckabee -AR, Fiorina and Christie).

This allows the Road Map to succeed with 15 to 20% support for Jeb – depending on primary state location. However, when the plan was constructed it’s obvious they never anticipated a Donald Trump candidacy.
The original plan was created to defeat Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Scott Walker (Donald Trump was never factored into the strategy). Current polling shows their strategy would be factually successful were it not for Donald Trump.
As a consequence removal of Trump was/is a priority; but everything they’ve tried to take Trump down has failed – and Jeb’s polling numbers (around 10% or lower) are now nearing the point of no return.
As much as the RNC/GOPe would like to take Trump out, it is now obvious from within the GOPe party apparatus, via their establishment media network, they are increasingly recognizing they just can’t take him down.
Ben carsonAs an outcome of accepting this reality, it appears a new plan is in the works to promote an alternative and attempt to split Trump’s coalition. The most obvious candidate to do this is Ben Carson (next would be Carly Fiorina).
There are numerous signals now becoming visible that Team Jeb (RNC/GOPe) is working to talk up Carson.
Dana Perino, a die-hard Bush loyalist, has been working this angle for several weeks. Fox news host Megyn Kelly has also been working diligently to promote Carson as a kinder, gentler and more palatable, ie. less vulgarian, option.
Watch the reports and the news cycles closely in the lead up to the next debate September 16th and we will most likely see strong signals of this strategy. The promotion of Carson will specifically target Trump supporters – it’s doubtful the strategy could work, but depending on the primary state it might be enough to pull Trump down enough to stop the current momentum.

Oh yeah. He darkened FOX's doorway this morning claiming "leading in the polls this early doesn't matter". Had his white board with Carson at the top and Trump at the bottom. Clear they think Jeb can beat Carson in a one on one, and he's probably right. Compared to Carson, yeb looks like the life of the party.
Yeb and company know that Carson is very nice and very smart guy but totally unprepared to take on a multi crisis world and national leader role

Won’t surprise me in the least to see Iowa go in the win column for Carson.

Not necessarily. MSM has done a job on the LIV’s that guns are the problem in mass shootings.
MSM never talks about how the criminals would abide by gun control.
Rove has already done all that and more.
And can I just say that once again we have supposed party leaders and consultants, RNC, Rove, and most others manipulating the race. How is that acceptable to anybody? Why do they get to pick a candidate and throw the entire Republican party behind that person? All the donations folks thought were going to the party are actually used against other Republicans. This is sooo screwed up.
What makes one qualified for president?
Telling Lies to voters, and then obey their rich sugar daddy donors? The rich donors want cheap labor express and don’t care if middle class gets squeezed.
Or is a businessman who created actual jobs (not government jobs) in the main street real world economy more qualified?
Common sense says the businessman. But not every voter has common sense.

How else can the GOPe and fellow travelers in the media smear Trump supporters as racists?
That gentle, soothing demeanor is what is known as a superb bedside manner. He’s a pediatric neuro surgeon ... And he needs to get beyond that. I think trump can take credit for his willingness to show his tough side. You need nerves of steel to do the kinds of things Carson has done. And it takes a pretty big ego to be a successful surgeon.
However, to turn this country around after the destruction of the last few decades it will take a Trump or Cruz. Carson, even if he is a committed conservative, is a milquetoast. You don't deal with the likes of Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Grayson, and the rest of the leftist hooligans by being Mr. Nice Guy.
I wonder what the profile is of the average person supporting Carson.
