The slide has been going on for a long, long time. One notable event in the slide was the Bill Clinton era in which people openly decided that character didn't matter.
I think people today feel that character does matter, political correctness is killing us, and honesty in government is almost completely lacking. Trump is attracting attention, in part, because he has really valid ideas (on immigration, taxes) but also because people think he's blunt and honest and willing to say the stuff that others are afraid to say.
People are hungry for a moral society. They know that what we have today is broken. It has to start with honesty.
A moral society cannot be provided by the government. A moral society starts in the families and in the churches.
The government reflects the people not the other way around. Our religious leaders and our adults set the foundation of society. Currently it is set by Hollywood movies, television, and hip hop music.
Trump is not going to bring a moral society.
He is engrossed in the celebutard culture where Mylie Cyrus is a role model for little girls.
“People are hungry for a moral society. They know that what we have today is broken. It has to start with honesty.”
Respectfully, there are many out there who think that honesty is for (insert common colloquial word for female genitalia here) and that it’s stupid in the face of all the tax money that is flowing into Washington that’s up for grabs through political action.
If Mr. Trump wins the nomination it may scare many who have much to lose if the tax code is eliminated or drastically changed.
