The billionaire real estate mogul uses a Nashville speech to emphasize his campaign is about more than him.
Donald Trump says its not all about him. No, seriously.
Campaigning in Nashville, Tennessee, Trump on Saturday paid homage to his supporters claiming they are a part of a movement and using colorful language to beg for their support.
This is a movement, said Trump, who often speaks about himself in campaign appearances. I dont want it to be about me. This is about common sense. Its about doing the right thing.
Trump also paid tribute to his setting, a country music hotbed and insisted there needed to be a greater emphasis on "law and order." And, as has become customary, he took shots at Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor who is a rival for the Republican nomination.
Beyond the bragging, Trumps appearance represented something more tangible: evidence of a campaign that has grown more tactically serious as it wears on.
His speech full, as ever, with a mix of taunts and asides was in front of the Presidential Presence Convention of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. The group that describes itself as a grassroots movement of Republicans that seeks to restore the conservative principles of the Goldwater / Reagan Republicans.
In other words, the sorts of Republicans whose support Trump will have to solidify as the nominating contest continues. On Sunday, Ted Cruzs father Rafael Cruz is scheduled to lead a prayer breakfast at the convention.
While Trump claimed to be vessel for something bigger, he used long stretches of his speech to tout his smarts, his business savvy and his vision.
One point of emphasis and opportunity for a shot at Bush was foreign policy.
I said dont go into Iraq even though Im a very militaristic person, he said. Im much more militaristic than Bush, even the brother.
Trump said he deserved credit for predicting that the war would go poorly.
Normally I wouldnt say this, but I need your frickin votes, you understand that? he said to cheers.
Mixed in with Trumps talk of a silent majority was a call for law and order. He decried the rioting that took place in Baltimore in April in response to the death of a young black man in police custody.
The police were not allowed to protect people, said Trump. We have to be tough. We have to be smart I know cities where police are afraid to even talk to people.
Trump said he has seen policing-related incidents that are disgusting and horrible, an apparent reference to the deaths of unarmed black Americans at the hands of police officers that have received significant attention over the last year.
But he said that 99.9 percent of what police do is good. The problem is the good work doesnt get shown on television, he said.
No Trump campaign stop is complete without a few shots at the media. At one point, as Trump was criticizing CNNs coverage of a fundraiser he held on Friday We had this incredible event and they destroyed it, he said a supporter got his attention by shouting about the criminal media.
Trump used it as an opportunity to again emphasize the importance of his supporters. He attributed his continued lead in Republican primary polls to the intelligence of his supporters.
The reason is people in this country are smart. They dont believe a lot of what they see in the media.
Trump professed his admiration for several country music stars, including Trace Adkins, who have appeared in his reality show The Apprentice. And he told the story of buying a property on 5th Avenue in Manhattan from Nashville-based retailer Genesco."
FAvorables. But, it looks like it’s from earlier in the month. Need a new poll, Univision!
Here are the results at two different sites...

Imagine American Voters being the Consumers, and the Candidates being Products.
Do consumer surveys or polls about the products, and get a good cross-section of consumer responses to 2 separate yet connected questions with yes or no only answers for each:
1) I want this product? and
2) I need this product?
The product that gets the highest percentage of Yes answers for either or both questions from the consumers will be the most viable candidate to win; the differentiator will be the percentage of Yes to the 2nd question.
Though when the time comes, it’ll be also about Voting.
I think his policies on immigration and 1,5,10,15 tax plan are outstanding. Also, not letting the press define what is appropriate talk is refreshing.
I told family and some friends at work 20 days ago, “remember this day (Aug 9, 2015)”. I said, “It’s over”. “Donald Trump is our next President”.
The biggest reason I came to that conclusion (among many others) was

America’s finest ladies.
HOORAY ladies.
HOORAY Trump
Well Said!
He doesn’t lie. It’s an attribute he learned in military school.
Those numbers add up to way more than 100%. What’s the question?
Ruh roh! The Donald starting to talk about others and “we the people.”
I just hope he is not a stalking horse for someone else who is “squishy”.
As I posted upthread....I think it’s favorables. Maybe that is counted differently?
I like his immigration plan. If he sticks to what he put in his book I like his plan for health care.
I ain’t exactly popping Champagne corks and dancing in the street over this Tax plan.
It keeps in place an abusive, and punitive Government agency that just 4 years ago helped steal a presidential election, and has stolen millions of dollars from innocent Americans who have no recourse against it.
Also the graduated tax plan is still the same stuff we’ve seen from every Democrat. It punishes success, and foments class warfare.
About the only positive I’ve heard is the cutting of Corporate taxes, and maybe some indication of simplification.
So explain to me why this tax plan is “Outstanding”.
Maybe a good analogy would be Obama’s fake Greek columns split-screen with Trump’s buildings.
Maybe it’s a PANTSUIT load (H/T to Hillary Clinton) hahahaha
Time will tell, I suppose .
Haha, you do an excellent Mark Levin ~ nailed it! :)
“Those numbers add up to way more than 100%. Whats the question?”
I think it is the favor ability of each candidate with the Hispanic voters.
That’s good stuff! Trump, a legend in his own time; Obama, a legend in his own mind.
