Jeb Bushs presidential campaign, which to date has raised significantly more than his Republican rivals, is encountering difficulties matching its torrid pace as Mr. Bush slips in the polls and top party donors continue to withhold their commitments.
A finance aide for Mr. Bush sent an email to contributors Friday with an invitation to a breakfast fund-raiser in Washington next month with a pointed plea that the former Florida governors supporters find new donors.
Please note this is new money only, wrote Sarah Corsaro, the staff member, adding: We are utilizing this event to drive in new funds for the next quarterly fund-raising disclosure.
The email suggests that, in his initial push to raise money after announcing his candidacy in June, Mr. Bush maximized his support among backers in the Washington area capable of giving the $2,700 legally allowed, and the campaign is now eager to add wealthy donors who have previously not contributed to his campaign.
The co-chair committee for the $1,000-per-person breakfast indicates why Mr. Bush is so focused on finding new donors: it is a list heavy with family, friends and former aides and loyalists to his father, brother, and himself.

Just say NO to senior Jebtard...
He’s the $100 million man. Funding may have slowed down, but he’s not broke.
When it comes to Heb!, I’m a fund-raising foe.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
(ow, my side)
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Right to Rise has already spent $20 million dollars of the $100 million already and no new money is coming in.
And Cruz has more hard money on hand than Bush. Bush Campaign supposedly has less than $5 million cash on hand.
IIRC, the bulk of his funding is PAC money. He just can’t use that any way he damn well pleases. He can’t pay staff salaries, travel, lodgings, etc.
The amount of ‘candidate raised’ funding he has is relatively small. Much smaller.
That PAC money is pledged I’m guessing for advocacy, generalize campaign ads on issues on the like. To my mind, that money could be swapped over to another more promising bet without much trouble.......
I could be wrong, usually am....but I still don’t think he can just use that bundle indiscriminately.
Funny thing is that Right To Rise can’t afford and are also scared to spend money on advertising even though they lied to their donors that they were going to spend $15M on TV ads in IA, SC and NH.
Their donors are furious about being lied to by Mike Murphy.
All the Right To Rise money is going to salaries, office space, travel, restaurants, pollsters and consulting. But no money for TV advertising.
You are probably right, The Cheap Labor Express has to keep its options open as ¡Yeb! is flailing badly. The problem is, Rubberio, Kasich and the other potential Plan B candidates are doing even worse.
Well, that seems typical given that recent (last 3-4 months) report on Tea-Party-esque groups’ books audits.
The $-to-candidate numbers were extremely low to nonexistent and the ‘overhead’ was high as a kite. There were barely one or two out of more than a dozen who could even argue they did anything at all.
Where will his support go when he drops out? Not Trump, obviously, but who? Carson seems to be winning those pining for a “nice guy,” otherwise, I would guess Rubio or Kasich (Kasich is already taking a lot of Bush’s support).
“Hes the $100 million man. Funding may have slowed down, but hes not broke”
-—I wonder how much of that $100M is actual money. It could be big donors have pledged certain funds but either haven’t sent the check, or just trickle the funds over time. Either way something’s up considering GWB was headlining a fundraiser the other night in NYC. To bad Jeb just doesn’t drop out and take Perry, Rubio, and the rest with him
Can’t wait to receive one of his “pleas” in the mail. That way I can respond with ARGO.
Wow, I count NINE people beside the campaign worker!!
Viva Jeb!!!
Jeb Campaign can’t even afford postage to send out fundraising mailers by regular mail. They’re doing everything by email.
You never know, the front row guy could be blocking the 10th guy, so the count broke Double Digit.
Viva Jeb!!!
I think it’s Karl Rove!!!
lol
