The "extremely serious" investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state is being led by an FBI "A-team," an intelligence source told Fox News.
The source said the investigation is centered around 18 US Code 793, a section of the Espionage Act related to gathering and transmitting national-defense information.
Two emails reportedly found on Clinton's server from 2009 and 2011 contained information regarded as "Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information," one of the highest levels of classification.
The two emails were drawn out of a batch of 40 randomly selected from about 30,000 "work-related" emails that Clinton turned over to the State Department from her time as secretary of state, from 2009 to 2013.
Some of the information such as communications intercepted via satellite or drone is protected under the law 18USC798, which means they have tighter rules and higher penalties.
Massimo Calabresi of Time recently noted that the law "makes it a crime not just to knowingly mishandle such secrets, but also to use them 'in any manner prejudicial to the safety or interest of the United States.'"
As a result, the FBI's investigation has gone "way beyond what the intelligence community's Inspector General ever would do," a senior intelligence official familiar with the case told Time.
Earlier this month the New York Times shed light on the FBI's "unusual" decision to run the investigation out of its headquarters in Washington, DC.
"Nearly all [FBI] investigations are assigned to one of the bureaus 56 field offices," according to The Times.

Agree with all your comments.
Apparently the invite to attend the Bin Ladin was delivered by secure carrier pigeon, which was subsequently and immediately devoured in whole—feathers and all—by the lovely Madame Secretary.
With all the classified info the Pantsuit Princess by necessity would have received over the years, that’s a lotta bird to be gobbling. That explains her ever-widening girth, and also the dearth of good carrier pigeons these days.
“A Team” in this context likely means members chosen by reason of proven loyalty to hussein and who instinctively know what to do in every situation to minimize harm to their religion of Leftism.
The end of the Clinton wars was near, when quite accidentally...
Hillary Clinton and several senior State Department employees obviously broke Federal Espionage Laws by mishandling classified information. It has already been reported that travel details/plans for Ambassadors were sent on her private server.
DID THE CRIMINAL MISHANDLING OF SENSITVE AND CLASSIFIED INFORMATION LEAD TO THE DEATHS AMBASSADOR STEVENS AND THE FOUR SECURITY OFFICERS IN BENGHAZI?
Obama ordered the FBI to send the A team to get Hillary. Its good to see the left feed on each other. Like snakes eating themselves
The FBI isn’t investigating HRC, just her emails.
Only thing more phony than this would be having the GOP investigate her. Dumb and Dumber.
"If you've got a problem with the Clintons...if no one else can help...and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team."
They will find that Her Royal Hipness committed no crime.
Obama has never been a supporter of Hillary. This is all about pressuring her to get out of the democratic nomination process. If Hillary were to withdraw her candidacy for president all of this would be swept under and ignored by the FBI.
Got my vote!
Texas is correct. .8% is less than 1 out of 100.
2 out of 40 is the same as 1 out of 20, which is 5%.
1/20 = x/100 -> 20x=100, x=5
Riiiight.
Randomly pick ONLY 2 emails from a group of only 40 emails from a group of 30,000 already self-selected from a group of 60,000.
Then, when those TWO emails prove “defensible” by some sleight of hand by Obola’s FBI... Hillary’s ABCNNBCBS press corpse gets to discard the entire 60,000 as “proven irrelevant by the impartial and very thorough Washington FBI special investigation team ... “
This investigation of TWO emails should require ... maybe 30 minutes. Each.
Anything past that is a coverup.
She has nada zilch nothing or she would have used them in 08
This clumsy sentence structure is intentional. The narrative flow slides by the fact that it is composed of two separate statements:
1. I never sent any classified material
2. ...nor did I receive any marked classified.
Ergo, to wit, the purpose is to avoid denying that she received classified material which had had the markings removed.
So, who removed the markings (matters politically, but not legally) - and at whose behest were the markings removed before sending to her?
If your intent was to be clear, the phrasing would be: "I neither sent nor received classified material by email." Let's see if Gowdy asks her to make the clear rephrased statement.
She's trying to solve the political problem by a public utterance without causing legal troubles for herself. The only protection for her legal problem is a political one: WH instructions to the FBI to slow things down.
My wacko prediction: this is to allow Obama time to decide whether he wants a supreme court appointment (for him or Moochelle) from Hildabeast. These leaks are to signal she doesn't want to; continuing leaks show he is serious.
Maybe Trump should offer to mediate!
The fact that they put this story out there is proof there will be a coverup...as usual!
Whatever else you may think about Obama, he's no dummy. When he gave Hillary the Secretary of State position, it was an example of "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." You know he's been careful not to provide her with any ammo that she could later use against him. Benghazi? She can't spill the beans about that without destroying her own political ambitions. If Hillary says anything after she withdraws from the race, Obama and his supporters will just dismiss it as a fabrication by a bitter old woman who is trying to shift the blame for her own political failures.
