A person of interest is in custody after the deadly ambush of a Harris County sheriff's deputy, fatally gunned down without warning Friday night while filling up his patrol car at a northwest Harris County gas station.
We've learned the person of interest is inside the Harris County Sheriff's Office in east Houston and continues to be questioned in the the case.
No one has been charged and the search continues for the suspect.
Deputy Darren Goforth, 47, has just left an accident scene when he stopped by a gas station on Telge and West Road. As he was pumping gas, a man approached him from behind, said nothing and fired multiple shots. Once the deputy fell to the ground, the suspect fired more shots. Deputy Goforth was pronounced dead on the scene.
An intense manhunt covered Harris County for hours overnight. At about 2:30am, authorities converged on a home on Crystal Lake in Copperfield, led there by a tip. The focus of the investigation is on the red pickup truck in the home's driveway. The person of interest was taken into custody at what's said to be his mother's house. His identity has not been released.
The man's mother -- who didn't want to show her face or give her name -- tells Eyewitness News her son is innocent. She said, "My son is innocent. I was in the house with him, so when that happened, my son was home."

Actually it kinda makes sense. The police had announced they were searching for the suspect of that killing and likely named said suspect.
Mother felt it wise to turn her suspect son in rather than have him shoot it out with policeor other possibily worse scenario.

One might think that a single set of laws should apply to all citizens, and that things should be done without regard to race, creed, color, sex, or national origin, and that all should have the same rights and responsibilities. It is not so.
The dominance of the media by blacks is impressive. If a white shoots a black to defend himself, it becomes national news for weeks, or months, and riots follow, but when blacks engage in their unending racial attacks on whites, the media demurely look the other way. The attackers are never black. They are “teens.” Reporters who say otherwise are likely to be fired. In effect, the thirteen percent censor the national press.
The military, and its strictly enforced racial harmony, is not representative of reality.
Bull. I never was forced to be friends with people. The whiney racist blacks (who did indeed exist in the military) were never my friends. The friends I’m talking about were actual Americans—first.

There's nothing in the article or accompanying video that claims that. All that is said is that there was a tip.
And, unless the suspect happens to be White, you will never know the race of the suspect by reading the article.

I’ve wondered that for some time. He has been inciting hatred and violence for years. The only conclusion I could arrive at was that the resulting race riots and mayhem, along with more of the same attacks on police, would not be worth it.
