Bernie Sanders' record skews way to the left on one issue after another: health care, taxes, campaign finance, international trade, abortion and the Iraq war. Gun control? Not so much.
"Bernie Sanders, Gun Nut" was the headline in the liberal online publication Slate. After the Sandy Hook massacre, other progressives called for tough new restrictions on firearms, but Sanders disagreed. "If you passed the strongest gun control legislation tomorrow, I don't think it will have a profound effect on the tragedies we have seen," he said. The obvious explanation for this anomaly is that he comes from Vermont, a state that is 95 percent white and 61 percent rural, with a lot of hunters. But it could also be because Sanders has actually bothered to learn from his unusual state's unusual experience.
Vermont has some of the loosest gun laws in America. The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gives it an "F." The state requires no background checks for private gun sales, permits the sale and possession of "assault weapons," and allows concealed guns to be carried in public without a license.

Honestly, I’d vote Bernie over Jeb.
“Honestly, Id vote Bernie over Jeb.”
Spread that message to demonrats. Knock Satan’s Prom Queen off in the primaries
Bernie’s gun statement is the only thing he will ever utter, past, present, or future that I will agree with.
Pingaling, to the girl that agrees with me in many things ^.^
In 1994, he (Sanders) voted yes on an assault weapons ban. He has voted to ban some lawsuits against gun manufacturers and for the Manchin-Toomey legislation expanding federal background checks. No, Chapman is not totally correct when he tells a fraction of the story.
You’d vote for someone who voted for a federal “assault weapons” ban and for expansion of federal background checks?
So you are a Socialist
Trump also supported the “assault weapons ban” and a 72 hour waiting period on all gin sales.
So you would vote for Obama again...because you know what you are getting
Whats your fetish regarding knives in the back?
That is kind of odd, you know. Most people dislike that. They’d rather have a method of combat.
“Trump also supported the assault weapons ban and a 72 hour waiting period on all gin sales.”
15 years ago, and he has been educated and changed his position since then.

Bernie Sanders has gotten worse. Now Sanders is pushing to ban all guns that are not “hunting guns”.
LESSER EVIL ALERT!
“Yes, I would PROUDLY vote for Bernie over Jeb. I know what I’m getting in that case.”
I do not understand your comment. It seems to be saying: I would rather vote for an evil that I am certain of, instead of a possible evil that I am uncertain of.
Are you saying that Bernie is more honest than Jeb, and that you would rather have an honest foe than a dishonest friend?
But that does not make sense, because Jeb has been as honest as Bernie, maybe moreso, as far as I can tell.
Could you clarify a bit?
How I see it is that if we’re at Jeb or Bernie, civil war is inevitable.
How soon it happens depends on who’s in charge. You figure out the rest.
Trump also supported the assault weapons ban and a 72 hour waiting period on all gin sales.
He'd be shaken at first, but then stirred to take action and protest such silly legislation!
NO WAY
