I'll bet the wookie is no longer proud
Paging P.T. Barnum...
yep, establishment Peggy is learning....this is balanced, not at all negative, and makes some good points.
Can’t get to the article but I saw elsewhere she referred to Hispanic support.
That should be no surprise: immigrants have no reason to mind the “welcome mat” being pulled behind them. The belief that they would is a false artifact of ‘identity politics’.
Besides, only naturalized Hispanics (mostly) vote.
Didn’t think it was going to be, but this was a fairly reasoned article.
It is interesting how she touched on the (paraphrased) uneducated emotional public. The elites see us that way. And recent reporting has been focused to identify us this way.
For some reason these folks see people who have to work for a living and are heavily impacted by all decisions from the top, as out of touch with reality. I would submit they know a lot more about reality than those at the top do.
They don’t like their tax dollars stolen to fund the ever increasing needs of illegal immigrants. They don’t like seeing the desires of illegal immigrants elevated above their own.
Who knew the working class actually had a clue. Why that’s revolutionary? It startling...
Bull puckey...
Peggy who? Does she know George Will? Send him over next.
I end with this. An odd thing, in my observation, is that deep down the elite themselves also think the game is rigged. They dont disagree, and they dont like what they seecorruption, shallowness and selfishness in the systems all around them. Their odd anguish is that they have no faith the American people canor willdo anything to turn it around. They see the American voter as distracted, poorly educated, subject to emotional and personality-driven political adventures.
The elites, due to their expanding government/wall street controls have contributed to the stated "corruption, shallowness and selfishness".. Or perhaps the non-elites are just mirroring the actions, policies of the elites.
As for the elites "see the American voter as distracted, poorly educated, subject to emotional and personality-driven political adventures"...again it is the formed policies, the elites' education systems that have poorly served our country for many decades.
Dumb...Depressed...DecadentDependent...AND...Democratuseless eaters...
America is at a Crossroads. And we have no idea what map we are on.
TRUMP IS THE REPUDIATION OF YOU AND THE PRO-LAW-BREAKING UNIPARTY!!!
Noonan was a speechwriter. Nothing more. And she suffers from a common speechwriter malady. She thinks she is a political expert and fancies herself a policy maker when she wrote speeches.
How do you read these articles? I’ve had an account set up on there from years back. I try signing in, and it shows my name as signed in at the top of the screen, but the article is still blocked and asking me to subscribe or sign in. You guys who are readying aren’t all subscribers, are you?
Noonan is a fantastic writer. She can wrap words around subleties that elude other writers. But she was fooled by Obama, which means her judgement isn’t trustworthy. So I suppose her perspective here may interesting but it goes no further than that.
This is one of the most encouraging columns I have read in a long, long time. I’ve plastered all over the Net somewhat reluctantly as pieces like this often have a tendency to cause folks to believe that THEY are no longer required in the battle because, to borrow an aviation phrase related to autopilots, a “Let George do it” attitude sets in as it becomes known that there others who can carry YOUR load. PLEASE DON’T LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOU! If you are as angry as I am (PISSED is more accurate) about where these alleged “progressive” elitist imbeciles have driven this country, STAY IN THE FIGHT. In fact, don’t just keep doing what you have been doing — REDOUBLE THOSE EFFORTS. We can’t afford to just defeat these people; we must drive them so deep underground that it will take a century or more for them to dig out and again cause these same problems for future generations! That would be YOUR grand kids and following.
As usual, Peggy provides much insight and food for thought. If your time is limited, just read the last 6 or 7 paragraphs.
