ROANOKE, Va. (AP)
The husband of on-air shooting survivor Vicki Gardner says his wife lost a kidney and part of her colon, and faces three months of convalescence.
Tim Gardner said in a telephone interview Thursday his heart goes out to the families of Roanoke, Virginia, television reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward. They were killed Wednesday by gunman Vester Flanagan as they interviewed Vicki Gardner, executive director of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce.

I’ll bet that station will think twice before hiring a homosexual who hates Caucasians.
Blame his previous employer who fired or allowed him to step down without giving factual reason for his termination.
Was there any weapon caliber revealed?
I can see God’s hand coming down at the moment of the shooting and declaring “No... it is not your time”.
I hope Mr Gardner thanks God for giving his wife more time on Earth and never takes another second for granted.
We should all hold pour loved ones tight and cherish every second God allows us to be together. We never know when He will call.
If I was good at it, I would lead us in prayer right now to thank God for her recovery and to help us hold our loved ones dear.
Any takers?
The question the victim’s lawyers wil now be asking the previous companies who fired the murdering wacko is: What did you now and when did you know it?
Trump was on target yesterday. It is a mental health issue.
We are not providing the needed support and supervision to those mentally ill people who need it.
Look at how many of the mass murderers who would also fall in this category
Thanks, I’ve been wondering about her as kind of having been forgotten in this whole deal. Prayers for her recovery.
No, they will hire more, it is mandated.
I read a 9mm.
9mm and I heard 15 shots in the video. So I am guessing 2 mags were used (as there was a 4-5 pause between the first initial 8 rounds fired) or it was a high capacity 9mm Glock.
That’s rough. Colostomy bag for a while? A long while? Hoping the best for this innocent woman.
Two kidneys are lots better than one.
I was thinking a double stack holds 14+1.
Prayers for Vicki. May God bless her with a full recovery and good health.
Pretty clearly a hammerless Glock. It looks a bit largish in the murderer's hand, so there's a good chance it's a large-frame .45 Glock 21 or 10mm Glock 20.
The autopsies indicated fatal hits to the head and torso of both TV station victims, according to the New York Times. That sort of indicates he finished his indicated victims off with *certainty* headshots, but did not do so to interviewee Vicky Gardiner, who was injured badly enough.
What video? Thought it had all been pulled from the Internet.
You pretty much can’t give a factual reason without getting sued.
Or was that because of fear of lawsuits. I say blame lawyers.
The strangest thing about that video is how he walked up to them with the gun drawn and pointing at the reporter, who looked at him, and neither she nor the interview subject noticed anything unusual. That’s a strong argument for having a bit of situational awareness.
I've heard two possible explanations. One is that there was a light set-up on the camera that would have caused vision issues as Miss Parker turned toward the camera, then the shooter. The other is that reporters are trained to ignore bystanders to get the interviews done. Both are plausible.
The light from the camera appears to be visible in the middle image from post 13 above, as both the reporter and interviewee appear to have extra light shining on them which I doubt can be fully attributed to muzzle flash.
