Once again, the left has exploited the ruminations of a grieving father to push gun control.
In an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo Thursday, Andy Parker, the father of slain WDBJ journalist Alison Parker, demanded that his daughter's death at the hands of a murderer may be a cause to bolster politicians into passing more gun control laws.
"If I have to be the John Walsh of gun control and -- look, I'm for the Second Amendment, but there has to be a way to force politicians that are cowards and in the pockets of the NRA to come to grips and make sense -- have sensible laws so that crazy people can't get guns. It can't be that hard," said Parker in reference to John Walsh, the man who created America's Most Wanted.
Parker also demanded that politicians get to work passing this gun legislation right away rather than giving him time to grieve.
"[P]oliticians from the local level to the state level to the national level, they sidestep the issue. They kick the can down the road. This can't happen anymore," he said. "And I know that the NRA, their position is going to be -- I can hear it now. They're going to say, 'Oh gee, well, if they were carrying, this never would have happened,'" Parker said.
"I've got news for you. If Alison or Adam had been caring an AK-47 strapped around their waist, it wouldn't have made any difference," he continued. "They couldn't have seen this thing coming. So I don't want to hear that argument from the NRA, and you know that's going to happen. And I'm going to take it on."
Andy Parker's statement echoes similar statements made by Richard Martinez, the father who lost his son during a shooting near the University of Santa Barbara in 2014. Both have now been used by the left to push gun control.
To paraphrase an old quote: The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution. To a committed leftist, human life is just another tool to advance the cause. Not saying that is openly on his mind, but he is traveling in that crowd.
Get more range time and a good instructor. Proper gun control is essential to effective use.
Me must call Amazon and Walmart and make them stop selling rainbow fag flags
“I’ve got news for you. If Alison or Adam had been caring an AK-47 strapped around their waist, it wouldn’t have made any difference,” he continued. “They couldn’t have seen this thing coming. So I don’t want to hear that argument from the NRA, and you know that’s going to happen. And I’m going to take it on.”
Sorry Dad, but dirt bag Lester could have killed your daughter and Adam just as easily with one slash to the neck with a knife. Unfortunately these two kids were totaly exposed by the nature of the job. A madman like Lester wasn’t going to be stopped short of a Dr. prescribing a rubber room.
From the looks of the vids you might have seen him coming but he had the drop from the first. By the time you had your own piece out he would have fired.
The guy, in that situation could have easily used a knife. Once the camera man was down, the woman would have been easily stabbed to death. How would a gun ban have saved her?

True, but without a gun he likely could not have killed himself. So a gun was actually helpful AND necessary.
And that is absolute. There is no room in that statement for restricting felons or crazies unless they are formally institutionalized i.e. in prison of incarcerated in a mental hospital. That's in another clause.
His sneaking up seems to have been very rapid. A Combat experienced vet would have recognized it, perhaps in time to unlimber his own piece.
And this is a stick in your craw, why?
And that would’ve saved anyone from this ahole wanting to kill them.
Or a machete.
They certainly seem to grieve...umm... differently.
I want more control of fat black homosexuals with entitlement issues.
I read that they killer wore an Obama sticker on air during the election. Yes, this moron got exactly what his stupid as voted for. Just exactly what kind of law does this genius thinks would have stopped a crazy, homo, racist Obamaphile from doing this?
He’s being used in his most vulnerable hour when there is no logic to be argued
By what standard would a man like vester have failed a background check?
That he was an angry black guy affirmatively action promoted through school and college, awarded a degree at which he was incompetent, hired to do jobs he could not do? That he was insecure in his homosexuality?
He had no record of violence.
Because, as the victim of murder, what is the relevance of who she was living with or whether she was engaged or not?
Did this poor stupid man say what exactly he thinks would be just the perfect amount of infringement upon my God-given Rights this time?
The reality of the situation is, people living with an emotionally disturbed person find it nearly impossible to get help from any governmental agency. Unless the emotional disturbed person commits an act of violence no action is taken.
