Everyone hates Jackson so put a woman on the $20 and keep Hamilton on the $10

As an Op-Ed in this section notes, Wednesday is Women’s Equality Day, marking 95 years since the long-disenfranchised majority won the right to vote. It also could and should have been a day to celebrate the future placement of a prominent woman on the $20 bill, displacing the notoriously slaveholding, Indian-killing Andrew Jackson.

It was not to be — because U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew chose instead to boot the great Alexander Hamilton from the $10, before backtracking into a cockamamie plan to have a woman and Hamilton share that bill.

As the country has awakened to the foolishness of sidelining Hamilton — the most important New Yorker, the founder of modern American capitalism, an abolitionist to boot — Lew has pressed a lame persuasion campaign through invitation-only, closed-door meetings.

Don't leave out the Presidential Dollar series, seldom seen outside proof sets, uncirculated sets, and collectors bags/rolls.

Funny, the presidents were on coins of similar material to the Sacagawea Dollars, but their spouses were (and continue to be) commemorated as the series progresses with 1/2 ounce gold coins.

We should put Vivian Thomas on the $20 bill. Thomas was a high school educated maintenance worker who essentially developed heart surgery. I’ll bet we could get 100,000 signatures on a petition in support of Vivian Thomas before the bozos figure out that Vivian was a man.
