Americans Greatly Overestimate Percent Gay, Lesbian in U.S.

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The American public estimates on average that 23% of Americans are gay or lesbian, little changed from Americans' 25% estimate in 2011, and only slightly higher than separate 2002 estimates of the gay and lesbian population. These estimates are many times higher than the 3.8% of the adult population who identified themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender in Gallup Daily tracking in the first four months of this year.

The overestimation is due to media. Vastly over represented there for the purpose of the agenda.

“Transgender” is also separately and wildly overstated. The magical number of 0.3% is bandied about, but there appears to be no basis for it whatsoever.

The most pro-trans survey (one done by a former computer guru and now activist) out there estimates at most 0.2% and the possibility of numbers 1/5 that percentage (which would be .0004 percent). Less partisan studies have show actual trans disorders are about 1 in 30,000 in males and 1 in 100,000 females.

It’s all about mainstreaming biological outliers and thus making them more socially acceptable. It also advances the ongoing cause to destroy the “gender binary” concept of man and woman. Yahoo ran a story today talking about young people being more “fluid” than previous generations, etc.

The media is still bloating their numbers ... intentionally. I've never seen a "guess" printed that placed the homosexual population higher than 10%. And, iirc, the actual research performed placed the best estimate at under 2%.

However, these estimates probably correlate very closely to the percentage of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender figures in television and the movies. Surrender popular media to the Left and you surrender a large part of US culture to the Left.

They're not saying that. Gallup's poll says 3.8% are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual combined.

It's just Americans, for whatever reason (media), incorrectly believe one-in-four Americans are homosexual.

Being molested or a college girl getting drunk and getting it on roommate does not a homosexual make.
