Its no secret that the U.S. has far more gun-related deaths on an annual basis than any comparable industrialized nation on earth. Those statistics go way beyond drug-related violence and incidents involving family members or acquaintances. When it comes to public mass shootings, America is definitely Number One.
This information comes as a result of a study carried out at the University of Alabama. Professor Adam Lankford, who teaches criminal justice, recently completed an analysis of public mass shootings across the globe over a 46-year period. Between 1966 and 2012, the US averaged five mass shootings a year for a total of 90 such incidents. The closest runner-up was the Philippines, where there were 18 mass shooting over the entire period.

A Congressional Research Service report published in 2013 counted 78 mass-shooting incidents over a thirty-year period in which 547 people were killed.
In other words, on average, 20 people a year die in mass shootings.
There are varying estimates from the CDC, FBI, Harvard and Northwestern studies that say there are between 300,000 and 3,000,000 defensive firearm uses every year, and no shot is fired in 99% of those incidents of successful self-defense.
A lot more than 20 of those 300,000 to 3,000,000 people will wind up being murder or violent crime victims if you deny them the most effective tool for self-defense that there is, a firearm.
So if you like high violent crime and murder rates, by all means advocate taking guns away from law-abiding citizens.
The rest of the industrialized world does have African Americans.
If you stopped the black on black shootings, the numbers would plummet.
That should read does NOT have, oops!
To date, more than 170,000 people (mostly Christians and Shiites) were killed in Iraq by ISIS.
Non-Jewish victims of broader Nazi crimes include Romanis, Christian Poles, communists, homosexuals, Soviet POWs, and the mentally and physically disabled. In total, approximately 11 million people were killed, including approximately one million Jewish children.
So BS on the whole damn story.

Ah ha! You’ve obviously been duped. #factdontmatter
If you treat black crime separately, the US is as peaceful as Sweden.
Well, looks like the white hut has place the blame squarely where it should be—————on the gun. The perp was merely an innocent dupe swayed by the mind numbing power of the mind controlling firearm. Reason, they hated the perp because he was black and did everything they could to get him fired from the station. Or something. Had it not been live on the air it would have been swept under the rug since it was a B on W crime. If obie had a son——————
He was clearly offended by a confederate flag, we must ban those. Oh, wait.
“By glamorizing gun violence and promoting a culture of fear and paranoia, gun makers will continue to make handsome profits “
Ahem, no, that would be your MEDIA, the guys in Hollywood who help you asshats get elected year after year while you disarm victims around the country every chance you get.
A lot depends on the criteria you use to define a “mass shooting”.
I REALLY, REALLY need one of those movie guns that never, ever need reloading.
If only the Democrats can compel the GOP to make a law that renders the magical chip inside the guns useless, then these poor innocent fools that misuse guns will have the will power to resist the harmful rays that come into their empty brains!
I think if you removed all minority crime, the US would be the safest now, and in the history of the world.
You got something against Catholics? :>}
Believe it or not, this was a rival bus line fued......
How many shooters are not American citizens?
Luxembourg, which outlaws private ownership of firearms entirely, had ZERO mass shootings during the studies period. Therefore, countries that outlaw private ownership of firearms NEVER experience mass shootings.
Or so the specious “logic” of the gun-haters goes.
Never mind that the US has football stadiums that wuld hold the entire population of Luxembourg with room left for Andorra.
