WASHINGTON -- For months there has appeared to be one roadblock standing between Donald Trump and victory in the Republican presidential primary campaign: The large number of people who didnt like him. While poll after poll found him in the lead, they also found him with some of the highest unfavorable numbers -- meaning people had already formed an opinion of him, and it wasnt positive.
But two polls released Tuesday in early primary states show that dislike evaporating. A South Carolina poll conducted by Monmouth University found Trump with 58 percent holding a favorable opinion and 28 percent, an unfavorable opinion. A Public Policy Polling survey of New Hampshire voters found 56 percent holding a favorable opinion and 32 percent, an unfavorable opinion.
Its a phenomenon we have never really seen before -- an already extremely well-known figure who can completely flip his favorability ratings in the span of weeks [without the intervention of a national emergency or similar event], said Patrick Murray, the pollster who conducted the South Carolina poll and has also recently conducted surveys nationally and in Iowa. But of course, that rule has applied to our experience with typical politicians. Trump is completely outside the box.

You know what is really weird? I feel like only Trump and Cruz are in this election cycle. It’s as if the others don’t exist.
I know exactly how you feel. I keep repeating ... Cruz or Trump.
Trump has managed to corral all the attention. Obviously, he knows how to manipulate the MSM. They may have met their master.
To know The Donald is to love him. While he probably had very high name recognition, even among low-information voters, not much was understood about WHY he was so popular as a public figure.
The Donald takes things out to a very basic level, he reiterates what he says, and then tells you what he had just been talking about. He speaks constantly of the very nearly sacred nature of honoring contracts, and that when he is in charge, the contract gets talked through, and all parties are either on board with the agreement, or the agreement WILL be enforced.
Chris Matthews had a program laughingly called “Hardball”. The Donald PLAYS “hardball”, and he pegs it all around the field with a lot of speed and sizzle on that hardball.
Even if you don’t now like him, you still have to admire his skill and accuracy of burning one over the plate at about 120 miles per hour, or conversely, at bat, reading every seam on the ball as he takes a cut at it, either loading the bases, or putting it out of the park.
Trump has half a century of experience in business and negotiating.
He is inside the OODA Loop of the Dims, the MSM and the GOPe and there is nothing they can do about it.
Trump rules already.
Fox had better change its attitude and war on Trump or they will go down the ratings toilet. Fox isn’t like the rest of the lefty media. They don’t have a base that will cheer them on no matter how biased they are. Fox will lose badly in the Roger Ailes Jihad IMO.
Megyn Kelly is going to need a transfusion.
Bad news for the Trump haters and Linda.
This, despite the lame stream media's all out character assassination attempts!
I think Bush should drop out of the race due to lack of interest. Hillary should stay in simply to demonstrate her sheer stupidity, and keep Gaffe Biden guessing.
As Lincoln said of Grant, ‘He fights’.
I want to know a lot more about where he stands on issues, but he interests me because all the right people hate him, and nobody owns him.
Same here except for Carson. Trump-Cruz 2016 is a winner and there can be no margin for error in the election, i.e. it can’t be close, has to be a substantial earthquake or else the corruptocrats will find a way to knock off conservatives.
Trump is demonstrating to the GOPe, the MSM, and all other groups, that he expects to be treated like the other Progressive candidates.
The penalty for crossing the line is to be shut out of the rating Trump will generate..
MSM need ratings.
Politicians only want to be re-elected.
Trump is using that against his enemies
I have to be honest, I don’t agree with all is positions, but, I see in him a leader that this country so desperately needs right now. I love his position on the wall and immiagration, I love that he doesn’t take crap from others either. When he speaks - you listen. It is going to take an exceptional person and team to unravel the mess that the obama administration has made, and I just don’t see any of the other candidates being able to handle that feat. I think Cruz would be a good helper, but, not the leader we need. JMO, of course.
If you google his book, “Time To Get Tough,” there is an outline on the internet which lays out all his positions.
All true but he is also not afraid or never in the past to have fun. Did you see the video of him singing Green acres on the Emmys years ago. Came out in bibs with a pitch fork. Audience love it and him. People may not remember the incident but the remember the attitude
You know where Trump stands on illegals, the wall, Common Core, bringing trade back to the US, negotiating better treaties, defeating ISIS, a more sane tax system, cutting debt, politically correct speech. What more do you want?
It's appears to be a two man race which may be what they were meeting about !
I love how the crooked DC establishment owned boys like Jeb, Walker , Rubio, Kaisch , ... are too scared to move and the fact
Ryan , Bonehead, Mitchy, McCarthy are too scared to ram thru Amnesty for there Billionaure owners .
