Confronted by Jorge Ramos [Trump:"I have a bigger heart than you, I want them to become legal"]
CNN Video ^ | August 25, 2015

When Jorge Ramos [Univision] is invited back after being escorted out because he wouldn't stop interrupting, he and Donald Trump had an interesting exchange.

Be sure to watch.

4:48 Video: Donald Trump Confronted by Univision Jorge Ramos at Iowa Press Before Rally Speech "

Donald Trump explains that he will get rid of the gangs [which is the only group he says he will deport (if you've read it) in his plan] and then says to Ramos, "You're going to like this," "I will be humane" "I want them to come back" because "I have a bigger heart than you" - explaining that he will be a good manager and after the good ones get their papers - "I want them to get documentation so that they become legal" - they can come back.

Thank you for that information.

But we have no specifics. Trump is a moving, flexible target on this issue.

There is no way you can state: “Trump’s statement means....”

I can and did state what the immigration laws are. If Congress leaves them in place, that is effectively what his statement means.

The laws MUST be followed. That’s not something any of the Republican candidates disagree on.

What Trump means by what he told Ramos, is the big question.

I agree, following the laws and not changing them to make it easier is the key. If the laws are followed and not changed, it is not easy to even get a foriegn spouse into the country, much less some random alien. It took almost two years for us to go through the drill and we met all the requirements. A couple of years is not unusual. I know a lot of guys who got orders sending them stateside and had to leave their wives in Germany to await the paperwork before they were allowed to join them. If the laws for legal immigration remain the same and are followed I do not have a problem with it because most of the illegals will not be coming back.

I’d rather have this sort and eject the EBT queens ... but that will never happen.

What, you doubt the catch-creating ability of the bureaucratic borons who invented the immortal Catch-22?

And Catch-21 wasn't bad. Sort of a warm-up to greatness.

we are set on landscapers, drywallers, roofers, ELECTRICIANS and laborers..

US employers have been arbitraging US and Mexican payscales and basically participating in (ripping off) Mexican state social subsidies, massive supports for low prices of gasoline and consumer staples as a matter of social policy.

US wages reflect the cost of living in an environment without state social supports. By preferring Mexican labor and arbitraging the costs, US employers are stealing social supports intended for Mexicans.

We would need an import tariff on drywall installers to square up the very unequal economics.

"........Watching Donald Trump speak and answer questions, though, is like watching a billion targets appear in the sky all at once, for a political opponent. Each thing he says is so bizarre, or ill informed, or demonstrably false, or unpresidential in tone or character, that it becomes impossible to know which target to lock on to or focus on. And to the extent that he makes a policy statement, it is so hopelessly vague and ludicrous that it’s impossible to know where to begin, at least within the context of the 30-second soundbite that the modern political consumer requires (and chances are, he will say something diametrically opposed to it before the press conference is over anyway).

Donald Trump is the political equivalent of chaff, a billion shiny objects all floating through the sky at once, ephemeral, practically without substance, serving almost exclusively to distract from more important things – yet nonetheless completely impossible to ignore." Unfortunately those talking points have been used these past 5 elections and, just as after the last 5 times, will fall by the wayside.

This whole episode was an interesting metaphor for what The Donald is talking.

Ramos, came into the room and engaged in “illegal” activity - speaking out of turn and without permission.

He was “removed” from the room, much as an ILLEGAL should be removed from the country - immediately.

He was allowed back in, where his “situation” was adjudicated. And found to be lacking, by the way.

A good demonstration on Trump’s part.

Still a Cruz Man, of course...

Um...whut?....the premise that all the drywallers are here( and causing a labor shortage in mexico) is a false one...I'm sure they do drywall in Mexico....

The point is that this cheap illegal labor is undercutting wages and bids that would normally be earned by local self employed contractors.

I've seen these crews underbid the Amish in NE Indiana for a siding job.....and that is saying something....lol

It was fun yelling “immigra!” once and a while though...

The other funny part is knowing just enough spanish to know when someone is talking “stuff” about you and being able to put them back in place and their crew laughs at them cuz the gingo knows "espagnole".... Been on many a jobsite in NW ohio,Bay area SF,SW Mich....the illegal/legal mexican crews stand out like a sore thumb... My only leverage I have found that works has been letting thier inspector know about it so they pick them to death with code violations....

You are right: once they are gone, very few will be coming back, just by the difficulty of the process. But second, in addition to lying to get in, almost all have broken other laws to stay---welfare fraud, falsification of forms, etc.

Trump knows this as do we all. By insisting they "all have to go," he cuts through the nonsense about a "path to citizenship."

Watch Tom Woods’s video, “Interview with a Zombie.” Then watch Jorge Ramos interviewing Ted Cruz. It’s almost the same video.

Great observation.

Tweet that to Trump.

He could use Ramos as an example.

Excellent comment, the best all morning!!!!!!!

I marvel at the number of people on this forum who are already blasting Trump for throwing Ramos out WITHOUT EVEN WATCHING WHAT HAPPENED.. The headlines are all misleading...

So, after you dispense of those comments from people who didn’t watch the presser and read ones like from yourself you realize that we have a unique character here.

He’s an all American Man first and foremost that all walks of life will warm up to, not your milktoast politician.

He’s actually a polite man, whom you can tell was brought up with good manners. He probably took Dale Carnegie several times growing up.

Ramos was disrespectful and looked foolish. He’s thrown out, and I distinctly heard Trump say, “I wouldn’t mind if he comes back.”

Ramos returns and for the most part is respectful, but tries to restart his monologue. Trump is patient, and answers JUST ABOUT EVERY QUESTION HE ASKS. I counted six to eight.

In the end he tells Ramos we will have more time together, in the future, I promise you.

I mean, the man has the patience of a Saint. Everyone else would have thrown the man out on his ear, but TRump didn’t, he remained cool, and tried to win the man over.

He knows who the man represents, and first demanding his respect will result in later winning his respect.
