NEW YORK (Christian Examiner) For years, Christians and social conservatives warned that if same-sex marriage were legalized, there would be no logical reason not also to allow polygamous or polyamorous relationships.
A University of Chicago assistant law professor is now acknowledging: They were right.
Writing in The New York Times July 21, William Baude said Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's majority opinion in Obergefell v. Hodges laid the groundwork for further expanding the legal definition of marriage even if Kennedy and supporters of gay marriage deny it.
"If there is no magic power in opposite sexes when it comes to marriage, is there any magic power in the number two?" Baude asked. "[T]he issue was hard to discuss candidly while same-sex marriage was still pending, because both sides knew that association with plural marriage, a more unpopular cause, could have stymied progress for gay rights.

We should all start asking all polygamy opponent sodomites what they keep asking us as justification: “How does someone’s polygamous marriage affect you and your marriage?”
Imagine a group marriage where the two biological parents are voted out but the kids have to stay by majority rule.
Like most libertarians, you haven't given this much thought at all.
Actually I hope it is polygamy, but I fear not. The ultimate goal of all this filth is children. “Beautiful Man/Boy Love” is on the agenda.
And as far as pendulum swings go, I think revolution is more likely. Some faggot will approach a child and get his head blown off. When the shooter is arrested and convicted - it will be on.
I was recently referred to the “Rind Study” by a fellow conservative. I had no idea it existed, but was horrified to read of its “findings” and support among much of the psych community. Yes, pedophilia IS on the radar, much closer than we realize.
Of course, as this article mentions, the specter of legalized sex with children has been downplayed by its proponents, because they fear that their agenda would be irreparably damaged until they hoodwink enough people before it’s to late to turn them back.
Polygamy is next & we knew it all along, says University of Chicago law professor in NYT article.
Pederasts and Nambla are next. Expect the APA to push articles saying there is no psychological harm to children from adult child relationships, and a push for the lowering of the age of consent. Then there will be the push for marriage to minors. Count on it,it is coming.
Pedophilia is next. The Homosexual Human Rights crowd is demanding the repeal of prostitution laws on the basis it harms “gay youth” who prostitute themselves.
One way to address that is via the law. Meaning a couple would BOTH have to marry a new partner to the marriage.
Oh, and with bigamy laws voided you could have a man married to a woman and that woman married to another woman.
The combinations and complexities boggle the mind.
I suppose that’s why stuff like this is called ‘Pandora’s Box’.
Brave new world we have, isn’t it?
None of this should worry good people. Just don’t engage in these aberrant behaviors. The Commandments tell YOU how to live. They do not apply to those who are not God’s People.
Sadly, I think you are right. Children are the goal.
We already have serial polygamy and serial polyandry.
Really bad times are coming unless the ‘great middle’ starts to wake up and strike back at those stealing our country right before our eyes.
Marriage= one man, one woman= civilization. All other aberrations are barbarism.
Marriage is a private matter. Marriage does not depend in any way upon the approval or involvement with anyone else. Burglary, theft and murder all involve uninvited third parties.
Two people on a deserted island can enter into the marriage covenant with each other and with God without the involvement or knowledge of any government.
I have given far more thought than the vast majority of reactionaries on this forum. I would not have proposed it but for the fact that government now seems “hell-bent” to destroy marriage as God defined it.
Moreover, people who object to my proposal never seem to care about co-habitation in college dormitories, nor that over 72% of black children are born to a mother who is unmarried. They will contribute to the decline of marriage as government continues to smother it.
Maybe you haven't been paying attention, but the new "gay" orthodoxy most certainly DOES tell me and you how we have to live, particularly if you "serve the public" in even at the most superficial level.
Again, the government isn’t “in the marriage business,” they are merely recorders of marriage - that is it. They don’t tell anyone how marriages must be conducted, how they are to be lived, or any of the details of marriages. There is no competency test or renewal requirements. Marriages don’t expire, except upon the death of one of the participants.
The fact is that marriage IS a public matter if it affects only one other person outside of this covenant. And when children are inevitably involved, this passes that test. Marriage has ALWAYS been a public pronouncement and commitment, even in saner times. This is just recognizing reality.
Next up, Fido gets married to Mommy.
‘How did you think our wedding went, dear?’
‘Ruff...’
In most states you can already marry a minor, with parental consent. Why do you think there was such a push to allow gay men to adopt? There WILL be cases where a gay man marries the young boy of a gay couple.
