Trump Turns Attack on Walker
Fox News Channel ^ | 8-23-15

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday turned his attack on rival Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, in his soaring and often unpredictable campaign that has largely targeted frontrunners but spared essentially nobody.

“His state has not performed well,” Trump, the billionaire businessman who now leads in most polls, told ABC’s “This Week.” “We need someone who’s going to make it perform well, this country perform well. … I’m the one to do it.”

Like many political candidates, Trump is spending the early part of the election cycle trying to downgrade the early favorites -- in this case Republican Jeb Bush, a former Florida governor, and Democrat Hillary Clinton, a former secretary of state.

Still, Walker, another early favorite who remains a top-tier contender, was more than willing to block and tackle, telling ABC later in the morning that Trump sounds like a Democrat when attack his record as a two-term governor.

Doesn’t birthright citizenship become less of an issue once people can’t come into the US to have children? Once the deluge ends, then change the law.

Personally, I would like to see Trump spend more time attacking Hillary, Biden and Obama.

You seem to show up in every single Trump thread actively campaigning against him. I am a Cruz supporter and do like what Trump is doing, especially with the GOPe. Now you know where I stand. I will continue the same question that you have been asked in several other threads that you keep evading. Who is your candidate? Honestly, as much as you post against Trump, I kinda wonder if your not on Jebs (or someone else payroll). IJS.

How true. It has occurred to me that if there was a Freeper who took the same positions as Trump, he would be zotted as a liberal troll within a day, and rightfully so. And yet, he has a solid base of support around here. Odd....

Steele needed to go, and his actions after leaving office, trashing the party for money, does not disabuse me of that notion.

His opponents in 2011 left much to be desired though. Rince, Maria CINO....

IIRC Rince was regarded as perhaps the least bad choice.

Just keep in mind that there’s a fine line between going after a primary opponant as part of the normal rough and tumble of the nomination process, and launching attacks that cause real damage for the general election.

Walker has his faults, but he’s well within the range of an acceptable nominee. I do like him and think he’s done a hell of a job in WI, especially in the environment he’s had to work in, but haven’t decided who I’m going with yet. Regardless, the last thing we should want is for Trump not to get the nomination, one of the other decent candidate’s does and then gets bombarded with Dem adverts featuring stuff Trump said in the primaries.

He argued that Wisconsin has a $2.2 billion deficit, instead of an anticipated $1 billion surplus and that Walker has been forced to borrow money instead of raising taxes to keep state projects going.

Wow, epic fail comment.

And the excuse from TeamDon as to why this doesn't matter is what?

A)Trump was misquoted, like the pope always is

B)Taxes are good, "state projects" (AKA road construction that Don seems to be very very hot for) that maybe Don's buddies in the construction racket are involved in, are all important.

C)LALALALALALALA I didn't hear this, I'm only concerned with illegals, give me a close the border communist and I'd be happy

His talk about this deficit isn't even accurate, it's repeated dem nonsense. Ah there it is.

D)This is the fault of some intern on Don's staff who didn't check the facts, never mind that this doesn't explain away the tax comment.

Trump said: ...Walker has been forced to borrow money instead of raising taxes to keep state projects going.

That is the words of a tax & spend liberal, folks, not a conservative.

Pair this with Trump praising the progressive tax code and the thin veneer starts to peel away.

But, you are right. Some FReepers will refuse to see the truth as it is thrown in their faces.

So, if Trump attacks Walker for defunding Planned Parenthood (more than a year ago), you will not read anything into it except that Trump needs to do what he must to win?

Absolutely not. Defunding and ultimately destroying Planned Parenthood is a goal that is non-negotiable. Trump has already fuzzed the edges with his comment about the 'good things' Planned Infanticide does for women, when the fact is they do NOTHING good for women, all they do is kill babies and expose women to the genocidal ideology of Margaret Sanger. Trump needs to re-think that, and I called up his website number and told them that.

I think that even Trump knows that PP has to go, but he is trying to have it both ways for the sake of those pro-abortion types out there. On this issue, Walker (and Cruz, and others) are right about eliminating PP entirely. Trump needs to adopt that position as well.

E. Mister Trump, in all his godlike brilliance, was just expressing that as the awesome businessman that he is. And if you don’t believe that, you’re just a Jeb-supporting GOPe hack.

But this is Trump saying Walker was wrong for restraining spending instead of raising taxes.

That is as much of a core value as the right to life among conservatives, yet some will still support Trump.

I’ve scrolled through here and there are those who do not like Trump. I’m looking for the real reason men do not like him. Men seem to be the most vehement against.

I know one man who voiced an honest opinion.. he didn’t like the fact Trump was that wealthy. Being totally honest, does Trump’s success rile you anti Trump persons? What is the basic reason to be so against this man?

Because he was a democrat? That can’t be the reason. It doesn’t fly. He gave money to the democrats is no reason either. He’s brash? Since when do men mind being brash. He was a businessman and acted like a businessman. Today he’s running for the highest office in the land... and he’s acting like it. He has brought the media to confusion.. he has the GOP up in arms.. and opened the door to see inside their club and know who they are. Every one of the GOP club members are as bad as a democrat. They are bought and paid for... they ignore the ones who sent them to Washington.

Trump is not bought... he’s not in the GOP camp nor in the dems camp. I’m still searching for the real reason... being honest with your opinions ... what is the real reason you don’t like Trump?
I am and have been a Cruz voter... but I am so thankful Trump has stirred up the status quo .. and for the first time in 7 years, I have hope someone will have the guts to save our country. It’s for sure the GOP will destroy anyone who they can destroy... for daring to be in the lead without their permission.
The GOP didn’t get the message we sent to them in the last 2 elections... and they aren’t getting it yet... they are hell bent on never being wrong and calling people like me, uneducated. Those insults tell me they are worse than anything Trump has done or will do. I do think he loves the United States of America.. the others love their positions and power. To hell with the people. At this point of living in obama’s world... I’ll take Trump over any of the other candidates... though I like a few of them.. they don’t have the strength to get past the GOP, the media and the left... Cruz.. yes... but Trump does it so much faster... he’s in a hurry and so am I.. we have to be at this point.

Walker is the one who has ended his chance of becoming the nominee, Trump is just making sure there is no come back for Walker....good move on to next GOPe boy. It is called winning and Trump is showing how it is done. Republicans have long forgotten how to win.

No more Romney/McCain’s to face the Rat candidate, give us a winner to get the job done. White House 2016! Trump 2016!

As for whether Trump is conservative enough...all his policy objectives he has presented are the most conservative of anyone running.

This is a great point, and to answer your question, yes it becomes less of an issue.YES, stopping the deluge should be all we concern ourselves with now - but also YES, changing the law would discourage a lot of illegals from coming.

For years I've been a "stop the bleeding first, then we can worry about the details" kind of guy on this issue.

Look you moron, I’ll explain this to you one more time, but I cannot understand it for you.

The beanbag comment is bullsh-t because - and pay attention closely here, because this is where it gets too complicated for you: no one complained that he attacked Walker....no one whined about being mean or any of that crap...the intellectual point made, and again, this will stretch your infinitesimal IQ - that Trump ATTACKED FROM THE LIBERAL POV. If he wants to attack Walker, do it from the right - do it on anchor babies or whatever - do NOT sound like Donald Richard Trumpka.

I’m not condemning every single thing he said, but Trump does sound like Trumpka quite often when he slams Walker. That’s a red flag - for those who haven’t gone color blind.

Given the chance Trump will crush PP and say we looked for the good in PP to save and there was none all they do is kill babies, it is classic Trump, he strikes with his left and then finishes off his adversary with a right uppercut....BOOM!
