ATLANTA — Former President Jimmy Carter said Thursday that doctors had found cancer on his brain and that he would begin radiation treatment later in the day.
Mr. Carter, speaking at a news conference at the Carter Center here, said his health had been under scrutiny since May, when he had a cold while traveling in Guyana.
The former president added that the cancer, which he said was melanoma, had been found in his liver, part of which was removed during a procedure on Aug. 3. He described the melanoma on his brain as four “very small spots.”

A Habitat for Humanity home was being built here locally, I watched it go up, all the volunteers, it was a nice thing they were doing.
After it was completed, the needy family moved in, parking their brand new Dually pick up in the driveway....

He’s been terribly mean over the years; stating untruths about political opponents of the demonic-rat party.
I’m sorry he is rife with insidious cancer.

More like incompetent (for example, Ham Jordan) and corrupt (see Bert Lance). Griffin Bell was one of the few of the Georgia crowd he took to Washington who might have been up to the job.
If he were a fundamentally decent fellow he wouldn’t be shilling for and promoting muslim terrorist groups to buck up his failed mid-east “peace” initiatives.
He wants to be remembered well despite his incompetence in office, his post-office pandering to dictators and terrorists and meddling in domestic as well as foreign affairs.
I don’t want to dance or piss on his grave like I do for Clinton and Obama but I have no sympathy for a person who has contributed so little to country and attempted/supported so much damage to the Constitution.

Cancer is a terrible way to go.
Actually it is true. Rush talked about it at the time. That is how phony the guy was and is.
I agree. Carter is by all accounts a good man even though he was a terrible President. With his personality and instincts, he should have become a professional preacher or run a non-profit charity full time rather than going into politics.
A lot of people compare Obama to Carter, which I think is unfair. I can't picture Obama graduating from US Naval Academy or taking courses in nuclear engineering. Furthermore, there never seemed to be any guile to Carter, while Obama is a conniving, manipulative fraud.
Well he never did shut up about politics when Bush was president. And never mind the stupidity of giving people houses for free. But otherwise, yeah.

Can’t agree at all with his policies, but can and will pray for his well being.
