FOX NEWS: RUBIO AND WALKER PLANNING MAJOR ATTACK ON TRUMP TO ‘RESET THE PRIMARY’ SOON
TheRightScoop ^ | 8/19/2015 | RightScoop

Posted on 08/19/2015 2:44:46 PM PDT by gwgn02

Charlie Gasparino reports on Fox News that GOP donors have told him that both Rubio and Walker are planning an ad assault on Donald Trump after labor day in order to ‘reset the primary’. This is sooner than they would have planned to do this, Gasparino says, but it’s becoming critical for them: Gasparino says they aren’t coordinating, but I suspect their donors who leaked this to him are certainly coordinating. After all their money is on the line.

Marco has no one to blame but himself. He betrayed the folks who supported him.

Those two clowns have no chance. Amnesty pimps who suck up to George Will and Chuck Schumer will never get my vote.

Good idea. Attacking Trump was a big boost to Rand Paul’s campaign. Wasn’t it?

What these people don’t understand is that the same people who like them like Trump. Attacking him undermines their own standing.

Cruz has said not one word against Trump, and the result is he rises as people listen to him and like what he says, which is very close to the same thing Trump says. (Cruz says it better, Trump says it louder and refuses to be ignored...) Walker needs to learn to see Trump, and for that matter Cruz, not as rivals but as allies in the war to save America. Do that and their own campaigns will thrive. Who comes out on top, who knows, its a long way to the election. But attacking Trump, if they are not careful, they cut themselves off at the knees.

Romney made a big mistake when he allowed his minions to attack Palin instead of embracing her. He cut himself off at the knees and never knew it.

Rubio and Walker may not consider Cruz to be a threat to them; or they know Cruz is a whole lot smarter than them.

Any criticism about Cruz is responded to as if it was an 80 mph fastball down the center of the plate; Cruz hits them out of the park.

The big shakeout will come after the next debates at the Reagan Library. I fully expect Trump to show up, pay homage to Ronald Reagan, and be well prepared for this debate.

After this the big donors will start cutting their losses and the number of candidates gets smaller.

Rubio, Walker, and Bush may see their prospects really fade. The real lesser candidates will be gone.

Exactly. They should embrace what he says, and articulate it better. They will thrive.

I’m almost tempted to donate money to Rubio to keep him in the race. The longer he and Kasich and Yeb stay in, the harder it is for the squishes to coalesce around a single candidate.

Have you been tempted to contribute to the Freepathon?

If this is true, Walker has officially gone over to the Dark Side of American politics. I’ve voted for him twice. Never again if this is true.

I hope Trump does better in next debate. He wasn’t impressive in the 1st and had to have known he was going to get ambushed.

Its not debates that put him ahead but he needs to not hurt himself either.

They have to.
There’s nothing sinister in this, it’s simple politics.

I’m not surprised at all. I said here about three weeks ago that there was something about Walker, that I couldn’t put my finger on it. Slowly he is coming out as a GOPe guy all the way, not a radical union-breaker we hoped he would be at the national level.

They’re puppets of their GOPe funders and handlers.

I kept getting grief from Walkerites because I said that he was playing "small ball." I think that is evidence. He announces me-too immigration policies after Trump takes the arrows, has a "repeal and replace" program that really won't repeal Obamacare, and has failed to ramp up "that vision thing" as to how he would be a dynamic leader.

I really wanted him to come out of the gate the way Trump did when Trump turned (face it, opportunistically) the immigration thing totally into his signature issue. Well, I hoped Walker would expand the concept of what unions were in America, expose them for being Dem money laundering schemes and use them to go after the whole Dem establishment. Hasn't happened, has it?

Ar you kidding me? He didn’t have enough time to amswer to all th attacks in the first debate. The only thing Trump got were silly attack questions. Some were fair game, others were stupid.

Do not use debates to pick a candidate. Plenty of red meat gets talked about daily. A lot more than you will ever get from a MSM debate.

Trump was very solid and precise in the interview on BOR last night.

No, Trump doesn't need to pay for a single ad. That's why his campaign is truly revolutionary. All the other guys are burning money---not a lot yet, but still . . . Yeb's donors are getting antsy. Perry and Santorum are out of dough. Huck can't last much longer. Rubio will pick up some of Yeb's money if he bails.

And meanwhile what does Trump do? Continues to get millions of dollars of free ad time, dominating the news, creating the aura of electability (now backed up by two polls that have him within one and six of Hillary). If he wins, as I expect, I think historians are going to look at these methods as a revolutionary change in how campaigns are run, much as the aged William Henry Harrison did in 1840.

This is at least the third “Big Donor” attempt to take out Trump.

1. Big Donors tried to foment a plan whereby the other candidates would refuse to appear at the debate with Trump. Failed.

2. Big Donors put out the word that they wanted Trump “taken out” by the other candidates during the first debate. Failed, no takers.

3. Now, Big Donors want Rubio and Walker to run string of ads to take out Trump.

Third attempt will have the same result as the first two, and will likely increase Trump’s poll standing a point or two.

The Donald is right to continue withholding any pledge to support the party if he does not win. The RNC needs to get these “Big Donors” under control. The primary process is not their personal plaything.

I just watched it.

It was GLORIOUS!! He owned the press. It was great....he hit on so MANY points....schooled Major Garrett (and others :) and when he was leaving, all of the reporters had grins/smiles on their faces.

You’re right....it IS like he’s ALREADY President.
