If he wins, as I expect, I think historians are going to look at these methods as a revolutionary change in how campaigns are run, much as the aged William Henry Harrison did in 1840.
That works now when the media loves to see the Republicans disrupted by an outsider and have their apple cart upset. They’re happy to cover Trump. But in the general election, the media is going to figure it out. They’ll limit Trump’s coverage and even more selectively quote him to make him look bad. He’s going to need to run a full-throated campaign with all the advertising and not take any shortcuts.
