Kurds are among the most motivated combatants in this Middle East fustercluck going on Syria and now in Iraq. But on a further note (adding to the fustercluck factor) Turkey is now drawn into the fight. Turkey is NOT fighting ISIS, they have turned all their attention to attacking the KURDS, the most likely factor in taking the fight to the ISIS forces.

Turkey is frightened of the potential of the Kurds to disrupt the national integrity of Turkish national sovereignty, by carving Kurdistan out of Turkey, Iran and Iraq, as well as smaller parts of Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. It would be a viable nation, and one well positioned to act as a buffer state to the surrounding neighbors.
