Dirty money from the US computer company Hewlett-Packard helped Russia’s autocrat Vladimir Putin secure his power.

The Leipzig State Court will soon make a ruling on a large corruption case. The prosecution accuses the US computer company Hewlett-Packard of paying at least 7.6 million Euros in bribes to Russian officials to secure a dominant position in the Russian market. But in reality, the documents reveal a much greater scandal. It was Vladimir Putin who enabled this corruption scandal. The bribe money from HP ensured Putin the loyalty of a clique of state attorneys. And helped him take control of the Russian judiciary.

The time's cited, when HP over-paid it's bid for a new computer network for Russia's federal prosecutors (and provided Vladimir Putin millions to bribe the judiciary into silence) originated and came to fruition under Carly Fiorina's watch. Is Carly beholden to the Russian ruling class, and/or vice versa? It's a question someone's bound to ask, regardless how anyone feels about Carly and "the HP Way."

I know I would feel better if she cleared this up...

Wouldn’t be surprising if Fiorina had her hands in this. What would she say under oath? Would she perjure herself?

I’ll be honest - i like most of her answers, but i’m not surprised if this is true.

Makes sense the money went through the German State of Saxony. Putin was posted in Dresden, Saxony during his KGB days.

I have heard that Putin gained power by arranging for the blowing up of an apartment building killing around 300 people and then using this as an excuse to attack terrorists, and make him look like the people’s savior. Anyone have more info on this story?

Studying Ryazan incident is a good place to start.

Here is a rather long article by John Dunlop (senior fellow emeritus at the Hoover Institution) about the whole thing - http://postsovietpost.stanford.edu/node/161

It goes into many details and also includes the story about how the FSB got caught by the local police in placing explosives in an apartment building in Ryazan.

I’ve heard her brag about knowing many world leaders, and calls Bibi, Bibi - like she is best friends with him. So, anything is possible.

Reno, it is likely to be something else. It is very common that even respectable companies have been shamelessly bribing third word kingpins. In most countries they can even claim tax rebate for bribes given to the third world!

That’s a very old story.......besides you’re not going to gain power by blowing up a building no matter what story is run around it.....this story was nothing more than an avenue to get the public engaged....it worked.

Men, who later turn out to be FSB spetsnaz operatives, place three 100 pound bags of what looks like explosives attached to 3 detonators into basement of a high riser 122 miles from Moscow. They use a stolen car to transport their stuff and neither local police nor local FSB branch know nothing of supposed “exercise”. Detonators get removed by police. Large coverup follows. Official version later says it was sugar and exercise was designed to test the vigilance of people.

I know all about that event ...from both sides of the issue....but really it's Russia and how Russia works....you just simply never know it's all conspiracy of one form or another.

Actually not much different than our government’s behavior.... ....
