In a compelling column, George Will who knows a thing or two about conservatism makes the conservative case against Donald Trump. Mr. Will refers to Trump as an unprecedentedly and incorrigibly vulgar presidential candidate who is coarsening our civic life. He labels Trump a counterfeit Republican and no conservative. And he argues that Trump is an affront to anyone devoted to the legacy of William F. Buckley, Jr., the founder of National Review and a giant in American conservatism. Just as Buckley excommunicated the John Birch Society from the conservative movement in the 1960s, so should conservatives today stand up to Trump and Trumpism.
Fortunately there are conservative commentators who are doing just that, including Bill Bennett, David Brooks, Mona Charen, Charles C.W. Cooke, Michael Gerson, Jonah Goldberg, Victor Davis Hanson, Charles Krauthammer, Matt Lewis, Rich Lowry, Michael Medved, Paul Mirengoff, Dana Perino, John Podhoretz, Karl Rove, Jennifer Rubin, Kevin Williamson, regular contributors to this web site (among them Max Boot, Noah Rothman and Jonathan Tobin), editorial page writers for the Wall Street Journal and others.

Thanks Mr. Helper !
Pontiac thanks You !
What color is the sky in You’re little world,
Buttercup?
Not a Trump fan but I despise George Will and Rockefeller Republicans in general so I do have a dog in this fight and his name is Trump. How long before Trump quotes George Will trashing Ronald Reagan in the same manner?
That right there is why I hang out here! Bring out the big guns Jim. Enough of these frauds screwing us over.
Well...I guess you forgot your anti a$$hat pills today. You were being a jag bag and got called out on it.. Deal with it...buttercup
I know you never got that
Crossing Guard job so now You’re
Barney Fife here on FReeRepublic.
Good Job!
These crazy peepole need an extreme attitude adjustment - and a change of underwear.
“Poor George,he was born with a silver spoon is his mouth’- credit Ann Richardson
Will not even speak to George, we spoke last week, twice and he is well aware of exactly how I feel...period.
Don’t forget Washington Examiner(et tu brute) they had a hit piece last week as well. Hells bells we might say there were none who DIDN’T have a winey hit piece of some fashion. The stock of super glue rose drastically as there were so many masks which had to be attached to exploding heads once again. Extra bits of OPM to clean up all that blood squirting from...wherever. The GOP-es were pleased - they had created jobs - cleanup crews need to be paid
Go, Trump, GO!!
AMEN!
Cruz is still getting my money but I love what Trump is adding to the mix - I consider him viable material at this juncture.
you really think Trump is worried about his money?
He buys protection for his money Just like all the other crony capitalist
Not meaning that as a criticism. It is the system that we all live in and he is a creature of the system. He knows how to work within the system.
Looks like they’ve started the list for the Madame Defarges out there. Expect an increase in knitting class signups.
I’m not a Trump supporter, but folks like Will seem determined to make me one. I am so sick and tired of anemic weenie Republicans who cannot keep their heads out of media buttholes for more than a few seconds for a photo-op! At least Trump doesn’t wet himself and start shouting, “Megan, forgive me!”
We need someone who will fight, and there looks to be only a couple running right now...
It could be just his New York sort of attitude that could rub some the wrong way. In NY and NJ, it is more of a get in your face attitude. Overlook the cultural differences and hop aboard the Trump wagon. 2 terms of President Trump followed by 2 terms of President Cruz and that brings us to 2033 when most of the wrongs in the country have been rectified by this duo.
Look, PJ, I was born and raised in Chicago, in the city, so a northern, urban, big-city attitude doesn’t bother me at all. I just have a very low opinion of Trump as a man, I don’t trust him to be conservative, I don’t think he is competent to govern, and I don’t think he has a snowball’s chance of being elected.
However, I am predicting that you will in the near future be driving on a road listening to hysterical liberal attacks on Trump on the radio and suddenly you will be blinded by the light and come over to the right side.
Why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?---Colonel Pogue.
