TRUMP EFFECT: IS ERICK ERICKSON THROWING DOWN GAUNTLET TO RUSH LIMBAUGH?
Breitbart ^ | 8-12-2017 | Edmund Wright

Posted on 08/14/2015 5:39:49 AM PDT by C. Edmund Wright

Did we just see Erick Erickson’s Red State draw a red line in the sand in front of Rush Limbaugh? And if so, is it another aspect of the booming dynamic known as “the Trump effect?”

That very case can be made – as Erickson used Red State’s daily email blast lead story from Dan McLaughlin on Wednesday to fire shots across the bow of all talk radio hosts who are in any way supporting Donald Trump. And while Erickson does not have the by-line on this indictment, it is right in line with his recent dis-invitation of Trump to speak at the recent Red State gathering. (snip)

(snip) gauntlet is thrown down on all talkers with the bombastic warning that “all those in a position of leadership…. cable and talk radio hosts, pundits, columnists, bloggers – (who are) actively encouraging the Trump phenomenon, you are neither a conservative nor a Republican anymore and should not expect anyone to take you seriously again.”

There’s nothing else to add to that, other than to notice that a direct endorsement of Trump was not a requirement here – no – merely the encouragement “of the Trump phenomenon” is in and of itself damning.

And just in case anyone still missed the main point of the article, it closed with the harsh notice that “Donald Trump’s feckless campaign is a millstone…. take it off your necks, or be drowned by it.” The close was dramatically stark on purpose.

Translation: Those talk leaders who now speak well of Trump’s campaign are heading for a major embarrassment down the line….and ole Erick will be there to remind them.

I don’t trust Walker. I think he’s GOPe in stealth mode.

Cruz may well have burned his bridges to the point where he isn’t, but his previous support of the McConnell machine against conservative candidates and some of his votes in the past are troubling. I also think the left will use his Canadian birth and Cuban father as a issue, how effectively I don’t know. I’d sure like to see Cruz in the White House proving that he’s more loyal to conservative principles than perpetuating the party incumbent power structure.

I’m no Trump fan “boi”. In fact, it’s that kind of condescending, capslock attitude from the voice of the GOP that has us low thinkers immediately assuming that those using it must be GOPe supporters.

Perhaps we have much in common, and I freely admit that my disgust with the George Will brand of Republican thinking may have me a little trigger happy when it comes assigning labels. Good luck to you, FRiend.

This is the first time in 25 years I’m not listening to Rush. His tacit endorsement of Trump day after day is enough.

You sound like a caller that Rush just had saying the same thing. He explained it so that even you could understand, too bad you weren't listening.

“...exonerating Frank and Dodd - and ALL Democrats - from the economic collapse.”

He has stated repeatedly that we are in the straits we are in because of the stupidity and incompetence of our leaders. Our leaders for the past seven years have been democrats and their enablers have been Republicans.

Ford in Michigan? I have heard him, correctly, condemning Ford for wanting to take manufacturing and jobs to Mexico.

Do you really think he is wedded to Planned Parenthood? It is political chatter intended to head off the war on women meme. If the Republican Congress had just a few molecules of testosterone, Planned Parenthood would be completely over.

Rush has been ignoring, for the most part, Trumps liberal reflexes on Planned Parenthood, on trade, on Ford, and on health care. This is not Rush like.

Rush did that for years when BushII was first in office. He kept finding "hidden conservative goals" behind Bush's very obvious social liberalism. Rush is subject to "seeing what he wants to see". Less than most people but no one is free of that. I quit listening to Rush for quite some time because of his too reasonable attitude about Dubya. I got tired of the excuses.

If someone could tell me how block John McCain with a response that says something like “F OFF YOU LYING, TRAITOROUS OLD F!” I would appreciate it.

They are trying to calculate whether they can write us off and still maintain power.

Very well said. You some up my observation so well I don't need to try and say anything, which lately only approximates what I intended to say.

"Trump just can't govern his mouth."

Trump is doing just fine. It is you that cannot control her emotions.

Well, you can often block certain emails from a static IP address but it has to be just a refusal without comment.

Where did I say I’m offended and where do you see a display of emotion?

Actually it’s you Trump folks who tend to get all wadded up every time you see criticism of your guy.

Like now.

“criticism “

So you admit you were being critical and therefore offended. Got it. Besides, that wasn’t your first post shouting your childish emotions of offense against Trump.

I wonder if he thinks this whole thing with Trump is amusing?

Anyone that thinks Rush didn't dump on Trump has not been listening. He is amused that the GOPe has no clue how to counter Trump.

He just now asked for callers that don't think he is picking on anyone enough to call in.

He is totally committed to denying the Democrats another term in the Whitehouse because he feels rightly that the Republic will not survive another administration. If it takes Trump to derail them then so be it.

"So you admit you were being critical"

Of course.

" and therefore offended. Got it."

You "got" nothing, since you clearly don't understand the definition of either word, and somehow think they're linked to each other.

Criticism: the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes.

Offended: resentful or annoyed, typically as a result of a perceived insult.

One has nothing to do with the other, and to think otherwise, you would have to believe that all the years' worth of FR's legitimate criticism of political candidates is always tied to personal feelings of insult, every time.

Which makes no sense at all.

" Besides, that wasn’t your first post shouting your childish emotions of offense against Trump."

That's some rich projection right there, LOL. Maybe you should calm down.

Sorry you don't like hearing negative things about your hero.

Having not been in politics before, Trump's views on trade issues have not been fully revealed and in fact he may not even have fully formed those views yet . There's plenty of time before the voting begins, so I can support what he says and does without deciding whether to vote or not vote for him.

As for "fencing a company in by the jack booted force of gummint," what Trump said to Ford was that he'd slap a tax/tariff on every car/truck made in that factory moved to Mexico. So as to whether I can"imagine Reagan" doing that, in fact (as my prior resposnse pointed out) that's exactly what Reagan did to imported motorcycle.

And a flim·flam reply that Reagan did it to Japanese made motorcycles and Ford is an American company would be laughable when speaking about another globalist corporation with zero loyalty to America and Americans.

Haven’t we had enough of that the past 6 and a half years?

You won't undo what they have done, by being nice, because the GOPe leadership will not allow it.

Trump doesn't need to 'say the right things' - that's what Republicans have been doing for years.. then they get to DC and do nothing but live high on the hog on our dime.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

>> no driver has ever led the race to the end from this early in the race <<

Interesting bit of history!

And speaking of history, since the days of Andrew Jackson, has a full-blown, unapologetic “rebel against the establishment” ever won the race for POTUS? I can’t think of one. John Tyler in 1844? W. J. Bryan multiple times? TR in 1914? Eugene McCarthy? George Wallace? Ralph Nader? Ross Perot? Whom have I missed?

For the life of me, I don't understand what it is about your posts that make you such a magnet for the ire of Trump's FR supporters.

You must be completely mystified by it. Must be the screenname ...

Rush could take a lesson in objectivity from Levin.

You should have heard Rush read Buchanan's Column today would have really worked you off because Buchanan advised Trump to take the Sampson option seriously.

You would have hated it. :)

Doubt if you want to.... I could blow your mind.

If you know someone with access maybe you could ask them to tell Rush that there has been an open mic on his 24/7 show that has a heavy breather blowing in the Mic for over a week. 24/7 email is ignored.

I don't know if that is going out on the air, hard to imagine that it is but hey no one has noticed or maybe they don't care.
