In the Cleveland debate, Donald Trump refused to commit to support whomever the Republican Party nominates in 2016.
Trump would be wise to maintain his freedom of action.
For there is a plot afoot in the Washington Post Conservative Club to purge Trump from the Republican Party before the primaries begin.
A political party has a right to secure its borders, asserts the Posts George Will, a duty to exclude interlopers. Will wants The Donald excommunicated and locked out of all GOP debates until he kneels and takes a loyalty oath to the nominee.
Marginalizing Trump carries no risk of alienating a substantial Republican cohort, Will assures us, for these Trumpites are neither Republicans nor conservatives. Better off without such trash.
The Posts Michael Gerson says establishment Republicans must make clear that [Trump] has moved beyond the boundaries of serious and civil discourse. He loathes the Trumpites as much as Will.
Trumps followers are xenophobic, Gerson tells CNN. They have a resentment of outsiders, of Mexico, of China, and immigrants. Thats more like a European right-wing party, a UKIP or a National Front in France. Republicans cant incorporate that.
But if the GOP has no room for Trumps followers, it has no future. For there simply arent that many chamber-of-commerce and country-club Republicans.
Trump should tell the GOP, in the neocons favorite phrase, All options are on the table. And that includes the Samson Option.
Trump should tell the GOP that if it disrespects him and his followers, then he is prepared to do as did the biblical hero Samson, when, blinded and mocked by the Philistines, he pushed the pillars apart and brought the temple down upon the heads of them all.

Informative post.
1000 25 feet tall. Naked. Golden.
Obvious.
I saw that today in Nevada. Yesterday Dean Heller endorsed Bush, today Mark Amodei and Brian Kolicki did. Why, with Trump so high in the polls here and Bush so low? Word has come down from on high is my guess.
Dean Heller and Mark Amodei both campaigned heavily on being conservative, stopping Obamacare, stopping Obama, illegal immigration, etc. etc. and as soon as they got our votes fell right in step with the Washington program. They both appear to be bought and paid for.
“Obvious.”
I’m thinking what is obvious to us, ain’t elsewhere : )
George Will is a Scott Walker DC insider.
He might as be on the actual Walker payroll since his wife is.
Those posters would like this story to go away quickly.
Are you having Skyrim flashbacks again, Norm?
And a country doesn't(have the right to secure it's borders and exclude interlopers?)
The sheer irony. Here we have an open borders, GOPe idiot, calling for a party to secure it's borders against a perfectly legitimate candidate, even while at the same time promoting open borders for a whole country and the unlimited inflow of all kinds of drug dealers, rapists and murderers from Mexico. You just can't make this stuff up. No surprise the GOPe is so f****d up. With idiots like George Will dictating party policy, it was very easy for a far left extremist like Obama to win twice.
“George Will is a Scott Walker DC insider.
He might as be on the actual Walker payroll since his wife is.”
Well Will is GOPe scum, so what does that say about Walker?
Walker is a Jeb safety.
“No, if he goes indy he will gain millions if indys and dems that you couldnt get to vote R with a gun to their head.”
Same as what I wrote about a week ago to one of those poor souls suffering from TDS. It’s the ones with Obama buyers remorse not only once, but two times, and their not ready to go even further to the left with the current libtard choices. It works the other direction as well. Life long republicans who are fed up with the establishment, but wouldn’t ever dream of voting libtard party would go with Trump rather than sit at home.
So they’ll secure the borders of their Big Tent but not their country.
Freeping traitors!
Nope. Thats a refrence to the statues that will someday be erected to Steve and I because we have been right so often.
The plan is to place them at every entrance to DC so that pols look upon our sagely visages and ask “Is what I’m saying/doing so blatantly obvious that even Steve and Norm see it clearly”
It would solve a lot of problems.
Besides, I look awesome naked ;)
FACT.
I understand your thinking, but what are the chances CRUZ will win the nomination?
Furthermore, I’d definitely vote for CRUZ over Trump.
The plan was to divide conservatives up in a “clown car” primary and give conservatives no place to go.
Trump, love him or hate him, has trashed that insider funded clown car plan and relegated jbush to the back seat.
Exactly.
” i think Trump is the American Revolution 2.0. IF they try to bar him from the debates - all he needs to do is schedule a stump speech somewhere with cameras rolling the entire time at the same time as the debate is going on. “
Absolutely. He could stand on the bed of a pickup in the parking lot of the debate, and first the cameras would leave the auditorium, and when word spread the people would file out. Every TV channel would be a special report.
LOVE to see it.
The more they want him out, the more I want him in.
This is why the GOPe is going after their strongest cheerleader. She is for America and American Greatness, not the GOPe. They fear if Donald “fires” the GOP and goes third party she may jump with him for the good of the nation. A GOPe candidate that wins by default (we still remember Reagan being frozen out for Ford at the convention) will result in a huge protest vote. We voted for Carter (please forgive us), many stayed home over Romney. This time there is a possible legitimate third party candidate if Donald is “frozen out” by the GOPe. Especially if through foul play Sarah leaves the party in protest and supports “The Donald” as the Gen Y voters call him. My 23 year old daughter is on fire over this election, she is excited over Donald and absolutely adores Ted Cruz, and these kids love Sarah because she loves America. Whoever wins Gen Y wins this election and they know it! They are looking for a stand up and be counted president they can believe in.
