In the Cleveland debate, Donald Trump refused to commit to support whomever the Republican Party nominates in 2016.
Trump would be wise to maintain his freedom of action.
For there is a plot afoot in the Washington Post Conservative Club to purge Trump from the Republican Party before the primaries begin.
A political party has a right to secure its borders, asserts the Posts George Will, a duty to exclude interlopers. Will wants The Donald excommunicated and locked out of all GOP debates until he kneels and takes a loyalty oath to the nominee.
Marginalizing Trump carries no risk of alienating a substantial Republican cohort, Will assures us, for these Trumpites are neither Republicans nor conservatives. Better off without such trash.
The Posts Michael Gerson says establishment Republicans must make clear that [Trump] has moved beyond the boundaries of serious and civil discourse. He loathes the Trumpites as much as Will.
Trumps followers are xenophobic, Gerson tells CNN. They have a resentment of outsiders, of Mexico, of China, and immigrants. Thats more like a European right-wing party, a UKIP or a National Front in France. Republicans cant incorporate that.
But if the GOP has no room for Trumps followers, it has no future. For there simply arent that many chamber-of-commerce and country-club Republicans.
Trump should tell the GOP, in the neocons favorite phrase, All options are on the table. And that includes the Samson Option.
Trump should tell the GOP that if it disrespects him and his followers, then he is prepared to do as did the biblical hero Samson, when, blinded and mocked by the Philistines, he pushed the pillars apart and brought the temple down upon the heads of them all.

“GOP ELITES PLOT TO PURGE TRUMP”
STE=Q
What a disgusting little sycophant George Will is. He’s the Bush Family shoe-shine boy.
My thoughts exactly.
Christy was talking about how governors candidates were close because they had worked together. Non of them seem to catch on so not too much rivalry
The more typical Republican profile today is the fellow who is an evangelical Christian and drives a white van with a ladder on top full of building materials. He has a family and struggles to get by. IOW he's what, 50 years ago, would have been a Democrat.
Bastages!
George Will never seems to come clean and say his wife works for Walker. What a scumbag.
No one stopped conservatives from running and winning since Ronald Reagan. Why have’nt they won?
Face the truth GOP has become party of Chamber of Commerce. And the sheeple have been hoodwinked by GOPe.
Pray America is waking. No one capable of changing America first attitude like Trump can right now. It is indeed the last chance before the grand experiment of what was America is almost over. We will become Mexico, ruled by the elites.
Hey GOPe.....Purge This!
That's what they were before Reagan....Reagan was just an eight year interruption.
I guess you missed the 10000 posts I made saying the GOP was exactly that.
Conservatives havent won because
1: They have been undermined by their supposed party
2: They have been undermined by their own base who votes regularly with depraved indifference for GOP liberals because some idiot on the internet or TV or the radio tells tham that they have to “No matter what” because “It’s a lesser evil”.
If that is not the case, then how did all these RINOs get elected? The Dems sure as hell weren’t lining up to vote for them.
You’d think that the McConnells and Boehners of the world would be thrilled with a moderate liberal Republican candidate.
Oh, crap, Gerson. You eliitists continue to reveal how very little you know of "the outside world".
I'm not one of your "Trumpites", but I know better than to believe they think in this fashion.
But I do know you think in this fashion. And it's pitiful...
Yes, many cons eventually capitulate and too many too early.
The GOPe is the walking dead but don’t know it yet.
Get rid of Trump and Cruz and you get a Democrat Congress, Senate and President IMO.
They need to quit being so full of themselves.
“but they brought the gasoline.”
LOL, that’s why I’m proud to say I never was a registered nor self-called Republican since the beginning. As a former canadian still registered with the Conservative Party of Stephen Harper, I can easily see there is no difference between the Dummycrats and the GOPe.
Any attempt to lock Trump out will cause him to go all 3rd Party—or worse. A new Party—Liberty Party—to Replace the GOP! He and Sarah Palin and a few others could do it.

Georgia has no party registration. When you vote in the primary you ask for either a Republican or Democrat ballot at the door. Many times Democrats have "crossed over" to torpedo conservatives when their Rat choice was not contested. The Republican Party will not attempt to change the rules because it works for GOPe moderates.
That happens yes and it is a problem, but not to the degree that people make it out to be on the national level.
The mere fact the GOP refuses to change that shows what side they are actually on and it isn’t Americas. Which should logically result in a mass defection in the areas it happens. Which would in turn get people off the GOP crack and voting with their heads instead of the ‘we always voted this way’ nonsense that created the problem in the first place.
If the voters leave the GOP, people worth electing will also leave the GOP and their liberalism. Then conservatives have a chance of fighting one war instead of two. One against the Dems and another against their own supposed people.

Hey Donald. You can go Republican, you can go independent, you can go Democrat...I frankly dont care where you go...IM COMING ALONG.
