Chris Wallace, anchor of Fox News Sunday, spoke with Kilmeade & Friends about his debate questions to Donald Trump. Wallace also weighed in on the use of phone interviews on Sunday shows.
Wallaces reaction to Trumps criticism of his debate questions:
I dont think he particularly likes tough questions they were tough questions and I dont apologize for anything I asked.
On the bankruptcy question:
You cant ask him about his voting record, you cant ask him about his record as governor of a state because all he has is his business record. Its a little unusual he was involved in four bankruptcies where people lost billions of dollars and thousands of jobs . It would be like having Mitt Romney and not asking him about Bain Capital.
Wallace on those who dont take Trump seriously:
I take Trump absolutely seriously and all these people who think this is just a summer fling and he is just going to go away republicans who are saying that are dopes.
Wallace on Trump doing phoners & on the reports that Trump might be snubbing his show after the debate:
The idea you would do a phoner with a presidential candidate where they have all the control and you have none, where you cant see them and they may have talking points in from of them
we are not a call in radio show, we are a Sunday talk show and he is a presidential candidate, you do an interview on camera. As far as Trump doing Chuck Todd and not me, we invited him, they said he wasnt available, I guess he was available to someone else, well survive.

Chris Wallace and his deranged biased inquisitors
took more than 38% of the Ambush-Debate for THEMSELVES.
They stole the debate from America and should
be sequestered, then fired if FOX News ever
wants to be taken seriously again.
I agree with that assessment
Can CNN, NBC ABC be any worse than so called friendly FOX
If I were Trump I would set up internet debates.
Heritage foundation, Liberty U, Hillsdale, other GOP friendly colleges, EIB network, Blaze, Drudge, Newsmax.
Hosts could be Ingraham, Tammy Bruce, John Bolton, Levin,
Pat Buchanon, Rush limbaugh.
You don’t need the network culture. Their ratings stink as bad as their fairness.
Chris Wallace historically significant or hysteriaclly insignificant?
We Report you decide!
you forgot sanctimonious, pompous, and boorish.
He doesn’t like personal gotcha questions that have nothing to do with the issues facing the country.
exactly
Wallace has an acute case of redbutt because those “doozies” in his black notebook were swatted away and stomped upon; as well as his failing to get his bonus from Ailes for destroying Trump, when instead Trump ate his lunch and then slapped him with the empty sack.
Wrong Chris, they weren’t “tough questions”, they were gotcha lib-style questions along the lines of “when did you stop beating your wife?”
Yeah... Kelly is not the only democrat inquisitor..
You got your Wallace as well...
Bair was a party to it all.. he got quiet.. wise..
BUT; he not “innocent” either..
No, GM and Chrylser used government bailout funds instead of filing for bankruptcy like they should have done. Filing would have given them more leverage with the UAW instead of the bailouts which handed the unions some ownership stake.
Yeh keep it up Chrissy and you will be on time out with Megyn. :=)
These media people in general don’t understand their role in a debate. A 10 person debate is not the place for gotcha questions. It’s a place to give voters a chance to compare what candidates say they would do about major issues. All the candidates should be asked the same broad questions and allowed to explain why they want to be president, and what they would do if they win. But that would make the moderators unimportant, and they want it to be about how clever they are in asking “hard questions”.
Those so-called questions were spoken in the form of an accusation; and ended with a demand for agreement with the accusation.
Trump obliterated the accusations and rammed them down Wallace’s gullet.
The questions were great. Trump had more time than any other candidates to talk. He can answer a question any way he wants.
He’s a baby. And, let me take this moment to predict again, he’s not going to get an electoral college majority. Simply not going to happen.
Then there’s no need to worry about him.
Go, Trump, GO!! Diss the RINOs and make them cry.
Go, Cruz, GO!!
Worry? It’s an irrelevancy. He’s simply not going to be President, which makes this a bubble, like tulip-mania. It’s a colossal waste of time.
Cruz might, which would be a great thing.
If you think she’s never given a tough interview to a liberal, you must not watch her show. William Ayers wasn’t happy with his treatment when he appeared either. She also spent weeks attacking Obamacare after her show launched. Heavy coverage of Gruber-gate, etc.
Any time spent shaking up the RINO establishment is not time wasted.
I don’t think some folks understand what a bankruptcy facilitates. I will say that if thousands of jobs were lost, then likely tens of thousands of them were saved.
Bankruptcies are all about trying to save a business, keep the think from closing down where everyone loses.
AND snarky, snide, self-satisfied and SNOTTY.
Trump handles tough questions well enough. He is not fond of muckraking questions.
