Former United States President announces he has been diagnosed with cancer which was found during recent liver surgery.Former United States President Jimmy Carter on Wednesday announced he has been diagnosed with cancer.
"Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body," Carter said in a statement released by the Carter Center and quoted by The Associated Press (AP). "I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare."
The statement made clear that Carter's cancer is widely spread, but not where it originated, or even if that is known at this point. It added that further information will be provided when more facts are known, "possibly next week."Carter, 90, announced on August 3 that he had surgery to remove a small mass from his liver.
Carter, who was the 39th president, has remained active for the center in recent years, making public appearances at its headquarters in Atlanta and traveling overseas.
He has caused some controversy in Israel, however, due to some pro-Palestinian statements and actions.

Just so you know Jimmy, our nation has had cancer too since the mid 70s. The prognosis isn’t good, but it may survive. If it can get past the next 18 months, we may just make it.

I would only wish for you the same treatment you as a Christian saw to it the Shah of Iran got, when he had cancer.

Do you remember the Shah pleading to come to the U. S. to obtain cancer treatment? I do. Carter drug out the decision and said NO.
The Shah had to go to other countries to get medical care.
I have zero sympathy for Carter. None whatsoever.
Put him on Obama care and see how see the treatment is that he receives.

I'm with you. I'm not a fan of Mr. Carter, but he doesn't deserve this. No one does.
Under Obamacare, Carter would be eligible for the death panel..but considering he has cancer of the liver which has spread, I give him 2-3 months tops anyway

I agree with your post until you say that Jimmy is a Christian. There is where we part company. He never was a Christian and in his later years, his actions attested to that fact. they probably did in his earlier years also, but the media covered for him. The best thing that ever happened to the Baptist Church was when he left.
Prayers for this wayward man, for body, for soul. I remember his presidency only through blurry recollections of news broadcasts about Iran, hostages, and staglaftion, but my prayer is that he may be fully reconciled to the Savior he has long proclaimed.

Carter ushered out a great ally, and in the Ayatollahs.
Then he refused access to the Shah.
It angered me considerably at the time, because I knew he was screwing things up royally.
Our allies watched as we betrayed the Shah. The vicious nature of the betrayal was just too much for words.
Carter loved to play himself off as this really nice Sunday School teacher. He showed his true colors.

Oh, plenty of people deserve it, and more. But since it's pure happenstance, you can't really say that it's a consequence of somebody's true deserts.
While I agree with you, I want it known that he claimed he was a Sunday School teacher. He played off that claim for a number of years, and many people suckered for it.
So as I take him to task now, I include mention of his claim, so that those who suckered for it in his day, will know the true Jimmy Carter.
We even have people on the forum thinking he was such a nice man. He was an evil SOB. He was not friend of Israel and was the friend of the enemies of Israel.
Chavez, Castro, the leaders of North Korea, this man was friends of the worst of the worst.
Jimmy was no Christian. Hew as not a nice man. And he befriended tyrants and those who persecuted, tortured, and exterminated their people.
