EPA 'accepting full responsibility' for Colorado river spill
Examiner ^ | 8/11/15 | Zack Colman

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy said her agency is "accepting full responsibility" for a contractor that accidentally spilled millions of gallons of polluted water last week into western Colorado's Animas River, where cleanup efforts are ongoing as federal officials seek to maintain contamination.

The Aug. 5 spill occurred when an agency contractor operating heavy machinery punctured a barrier holding back water containing mining tailings at the Gold King Mine near Silverton, Colo. Three million gallons of water polluted with heavy metals poured into the river and turned it orange, and the tainted water spread into New Mexico and Utah.

Republicans and local residents have attacked the agency for what they called a slow response to the spill. McCarthy, who said that she expects lawsuits, said the agency is "absolutely deeply sorry" and is using the "full depth and breadth of the agency" to address the "tragic" event.

Accepting full responsibility? So how many EPA officials will be fired, fined, and have “clean water act” criminal charges pressed against them? Oh not that level of full responsibility!

The accountability for her acceptance of responsibility:

She can’t just say she’s sorry. She has to say she’s “absolutely deeply sorry”.

How will she ever recover?

Resignation? Add fines and jail time. That is what happens to the victims of the EPA’s regulatory fascism.

Also - I live in New York and have a lot of liberal friends on Facebook. I am 100% sure that if this were the cause of a private for-profit company they’d be screaming bloody murder about it every minute of every day.

Their silence is deafening.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy said her agency is "accepting full responsibility"

In Obama regime double-speak, that's Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy's way of saying "please shut up and go away and stop asking these difficult questions."

This is the true sign that the Rule of Law is dead. A government not bound by its own rules.

Saying you accept full responsibility is such an empty gesture. Janet Reno said she accepted full responsibility for what happened in Waco, TX. Her acceptance of full responsibility didn’t make the Branch Dividians any less dead.

In the Dorkbama the Muslim administration, “Accepting Full Responsibility” means that the perps will be promoted and W Bush will be blamed.

Never in the history of our country has the entire government been populated by ill-educated, technically and economically illiterate, and blatantly dishonest slime balls.

Ping us when the head of the EPA is hung.

Sell tickets.

It’ll wipe out the national dept.

And as we all know with every failing government agency, taking full responsibility simply means saying the phrase "we are taking full responsibility."

And that is all. No one gets fired or jailed.

Sure. Just like the Janet Reno "I take full responsibility" statement following the Waco debacle.
"Full Responsibility" but Zero Accountability. Just praise from the Press and Congress for taking "Full Responsibility".

Words mean next to nothing from our Government/Media complex.

Now let’s review what Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina (Speaks With Forked Tongue) McCarthy and her RICO agency is really saying.

First, the lead, arsenic, copper, etc. “are not toxic” although they are in concentrations of 3,500 times more than the EPA allowed minimums. So sayeth the independent and unbiased EPA scientists.

If so, why were they cleaning the site up if its toxicity was minimal? Who was the contractor .... name please? Who is the crony contractor related to, friends of, business partners with, and most importantly who is getting the crony capitalist kickbacks?

Which of the unbiased and independent EPA scientists were supervising the cleanup?

Sounds like a third world corruption operation.
