From his backyard in Durango, Colorado, Tom Bartles can see the Animas River, which was stained an unnatural orange.
The Environmental Protection Agency accidentally released millions of gallons of pollutants into the water last week, turning the typically blue water to the color of mustard.
"Everybody in town knew it was coming. It was hard to wake up in the morning and see an orange river," Bartles, 52, told CNN. "Many of the locals in this region are probably going to experience a certain level of mourning."

Officials said they believe the spill carried metals, mainly iron, zinc and copper, into a creek that feeds into the Animas.
Wednesday's spill caused a spike in concentrations of total and dissolved metals in the water, the EPA said. It's unclear exactly what effect that will have.

Brilliant.
Turn the orange Animas river into a salt water river.
Then again, salt dissolves metal.
BTW, I want to see photos of them crying. I don't believe that they did.
And the commission will cost tax payers millions and will line the pockets of some cronies.

accidentally???? How do we know?
Good point. You’d think with the volume of debris they dumped in the river, if it was an accident someone would have noticed and shut off the flow. Instead, they just kept if coming. Makes it seem like it was simply a convenience for the EPA to dump the wastewater in the river.
OK, is that a Man or a Woman?
I think the story is over. Trump should jump all over this.
The head of the EPA and those involved need to be fired. Their budget needs to be freezed and they should pay damages from their current budget in the year paid, so if that requires massive layoffs than so be it.
Of course it is, the media gave it a few seconds and we'll never hear about it again.
