Schumer feels the wrath.
Ever since the White House leaked Thursday night that Sen. Chuck Schumer would be coming out against the Iran deal, the progressive movement has foamed at the mouth with vitriol directed Schumer’s way.
Much of it is just the plain old progressive vitriol of the MoveOn.org, Daily Kos and netroots types. Schumer is a warmonger, wants war, loves war, and so on.
Obama set up that argument when he claimed that Republicans were making common cause with hardline Iranians — even though Obama clinched the deal with hardline Iranians who are laughing all the way to the bank and an internationally-authorized nuclear enrichment program.

I don’t believe for a minute that Chuckles is going to present any serious opposition to this sell out. Knowing his worship of the progressive cause, I’m inclined to see this as nothing more than political theater.
And this whole procedure is a clear violation of the Constitution. It takes 2/3 of the Senate to RATIFY what is clearly a treaty. There is no veto involved, Obungo has no say in the matter. The Senate doesn’t vote “against” treaties, it either ratifies them or it doesn’t.
This whole thing is just more proof that the Republicans in the Senate have sold out 100%. They know damn well Obama can’t “veto” their rejection of a treaty. So McConnell is allowing this ass backward farce to proceed and legitimize Obama’s lawless treaty. Not enough rope in DC to hang all the traitors, it would have to be imported.

Of course none of this matters. Even if it were a treaty, and the Senate rejected, the sanctions are off. Win Iran, that's why Obama went immediately to the Security Council.
