Don’t do it. Don’t take that pledge. Keep the GOPe squirming.
I suspect he will take the pledge under likely to be unspecified terms and then if he wants to run independent will claim the unspecified terms were broken.
Won’t matter. They’ll still stab you in the back, just like they do to their voters.
Pledges are meaningless. Politicians violate them all the time.
he is in the wrong primary. he should be running as a democrat.
If I understand he will only pledge not to run as a third party candidate. Nothing is said about supporting the nominee.
TRUMP : “Yes, I promise not to run as an independent” (crossing fingers at the back with one hand)
GOP e : “Then we promise not to destroy you” (crossing fingers at the back with one hand)
The first candidate that, after being asked to “raise their hand”, tells the moderator to shove it, gets my vote.
Trump said when asked to raise his hand in the pledge that it would depend on who won the nomination. The others (ALL OF THEM) all pledged to support Jeb Bush if he got the nomination. GO TRUMP!
How about Trumpe will not run 3rd party because the Repubics will become third party if Bush wins. Trump will run in the NEW Republican party.
Too soon. Let them squirm another month or two.
Keep’em guessing, Donald!
Don’t fall into their rhetorical traps.

Trump is still dominating the headlines.
Sorry, Luntz, but it is difficult to bury someone when he is still dominating the political theater.
Never take any option off the table.
... as long as this party does not nominate Jeb Bush, I pledge to support the winner and not make a third party run. However, if Jeb is the nominee, all bets are off.
It would be a bad move on his part. Why throw away your Trump card. I wouldn’t trust the RNC as far as I could throw them.
Trump wrote the Art of the Deal. This could be fun to watch play out.
Trump: ok, I agree......
That's great Mr. Trump now do you want to write Mr. Bush a check now or do you want to mail it to him?
If he loses fair and square (which I assume will happen), then he shouldn't bolt. He won't have the support in that case to make a difference, except as a possible spoiler.
(Generally speaking, frontrunners this far out don't usually make it to the nomination. And his bluster and rhetoric will get old. Hopefully, someone else who can talk the talk and walk the walk on the important issues will rise up in the polls.)
