A 49-year-old police trainee killed an unarmed teen burglary suspect who drove an SUV into the showroom of an Arlington car dealership early Friday.

...

The dealership’s security company reported the break-in after its cameras recorded a man there after hours, police said. Sgt. Paul Rodriguez said a burglar drove a sport utility vehicle through the dealership showroom’s glass doors.

When police arrived they found Taylor in the showroom and approached him. Police said Miller shot Taylor after an “altercation.” Taylor died at the scene, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

I wish the enemedia would stop with the “unarmed” crap! That determination cannot be determined until AFTER the incident.

Welcome to Texas.

This crap doesn’t fly in the Lone Star state. Burglarize a business, you are literally taking your life in your own hands. Assault an armed police officer, then the reward for stupidity is usually death - the way things ought to be.

If you want to live to a ripe old age in Texas, the rules are very simple. Anyone, regardless of race, should be able to understand them. First, do not commit a crime. If you do, don’t attack the police, or an armed Texan when they approach to stop you. Most idiots figure this out, we have bullets for those who don’t.

The DALLAS NEWS deserves a Pulitzer prize for this headline.

A 180 pound sack of muscle, defensive back. That’s the “light heavyweight” boxing class, next to heavyweight.

Somebody like that charges you, in addition to shooting your gun a bunch, you need to sidestep so that he doesn’t knock you flat with pure momentum.

that in and of itself means zero. plenty of people feel this way more and more and they are not criminals or drug users.

Story doesn't quite match the headline.

Yeah, right? It told the complete opposite "story." Before reading the article, I really thought there was a training exercise going on at a dealership (???) and an innocent bystander was shot by a stray bullet.

Dead person has numerous tweets voicing his lack of trust in the police.

I don't trust the police, so I'm going to be sure to attack them when they catch me and try to arrest me for stealing a large vehicle and driving it through buildings and causing many tens of thousands of dollars in damage while I'm committing the felony. I'm turning my life around, and have a bright future. See? SEEEEE??!?!?!? Cops! Can't trust 'em!!!

sometimes it cant be determined. other times when they are’pointing a gun and firing in your general direction, or swinging a pipe at you, they are. whether its real or fake is then might be the only question left’to figure out.

I checked out the comments at the article. Lots of “there was no reason to kill him” comments by the usual suspects.

As I write this, they are looking for the grade school band pictures.

The details in the story MUST be wrong. I’m sure the little angel was stopping off after assisting with Sunday School to help shop for an economical used car that his poor mother could use to drive to her third job. Suddenly, the white cop appeared out of nowhere and, discovering he was falling behind his quota, just gunned down the innocent youth in the parking lot for no reason whatsoever. That’s gotta be the true story.

That’s if you run them over.

But if they drop their wallet and walk away, and if you then take their wallet and go home — no lives have been lost. But has an armed robbery occurred?

Exactly. The headline is very misleading. The "unarmed" youth was actually armed with a 6,000 lb. SUV and got into an "altercation", a la Michael Brown of Ferguson fame, with the trainee cop. The headline made it sound as if this poor, innocent, gentle giant of a youth, was just minding his own business and was shot dead by a rookie cop. Not so.

This cop deserves a commendation and the full support of his department and union. He did what cops are hired to do: Protect and Serve.
