GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump and his supporters are crying foul over what they consider to be tough treatment by Fox News and in particular Megyn Kelly at Thursday night's debate. They are calling for a ban on Kelly at future GOP showdowns.
For anyone who watched even the first few minutes of the first 2016 Republican presidential candidate debate Thursday night, it was clear that Fox News was out to sandbag Trump. Taking to social media after the debate, it was clear that "The Donald" was far from pleased with the conservative news network.
When the highly anticipated debate of the crowded field of Republican presidential hopefuls began, the first question, asked by the team of Fox News personalities who acted as the evening's moderators, was clearly aimed at one of the ten contenders on stage.
"Is there anyone on stage, and can I see hands, who is unwilling tonight to pledge your support to the eventual nominee of the Republican Party and pledge to not run an independent campaign against that person," asked Fox News' Bret Baier.
The lone hand that went up was that of frontrunner Donald Trump, who is enjoying a double-digit lead in the polls. Trump's move prompted both cheers and jeers from the audience in Cleveland and gave his challengers their first opportunity to jump on the billionaire former TV reality show star.
"Maybe he runs as an independent," said Sen. Rand Paul, who is trailing Trump by 20 points. "He's already hedging his bets."
"That question -- statement was absolutely aimed at me," Trump said during a phone interview on "Fox and Friends" Friday morning, adding "I didn't think it was appropriate, but that's OK."
The second obvious slam to Trump came from Fox's Megyn Kelly whose question was neither about policy nor politics, but about the thrice married businessman's history of calling women he doesn't like "fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals." Kelly further noted an instance on Trump's reality show "The Apprentice" where he alluded to seeing a female contestant on her knees.
If he had promised to support the GOPe candidate, do you think the GOPe would have felt free to play every dirty trick they could think of on him?
What about HIS life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. Is he supposed to forgo his own ambitions or give some pre-dated
opinion, because the GOPe doesn’t want to lose. What a weak panty waste party position.
Big media wants to pick the nominees, as they have in the past.
Yikes! A coven.
That makes the question invalid.
Greta has worked with DT through Samaitans Purse. Its another uniting element between Trump/Palin/Greta/Grahms. There is a picture on net of all attending Billy Graham’s last sermon
O REILLY And DT go back generations. Bills dad bought a house that Fred Trump built in Queens
Wonderful likeness. I can’t help but wonder where that mouth has been though.
I don't think it's whining. It's fighting back and getting more publicity. If he said nothing the narrative would have been "Trump Denies Charges of Sexism!" or some such claptrap.
She’s got some BIG .................feet............................
“I am sick of all Media soft-balling who they like “
Megyn seemed almost orgasmic when she was questioning Jeb. I wouldn’t be that six-grade goofy if Tom Selleck came to my door. Pitiful.
Although I like both, I think Megyn embarrassed herself last night. In her eagerness to take down Donald, she brought herself down quite a few notches. They need to put Greta in and send Megyn on a time out. If they force Donald to go third party then the Republicans lose. It appears that Fox was purposely trying to push him out of the Republican party.
Well put. She sure did. She was thrilled that Roger Ailes would probably give her a raise.
I never heard a debate start off with the mod reading the candidate’s tweets. Total bag job.
Megyn Kelly is in a odd spot. She is being adored by liberal media this morning. But they aren’t her audience. Her Facebook page is 99% against her.
Maybe they should all sing campfire songs....
Tough and unfair questions are the name of the game for any non-Marxist running. Might as well get used to them now.
Megyn Kelly did not show up Trump last night. SHE showed her true colors as a snippy, snotty, b!%ch. she is as phony as her blonde hair extenders. FNN made its way in the beginning by supposedly being fair and honest; now they are just as liberal as the rest of the MSM.
Will you pledge to support the GOPe nominee (aimed at Trump)?
What about your inappropriate comments to women?
What about your comments about illegals? I want proof!
What about your bankruptcies?
I can't think of a single question they directed to him where they wanted to know about a substantive policy issue from his perspective. With only a minute to respond, all they allowed him to do was defend himself from moderator attacks... and invite other participants to join in (Kasich and Rubio).
EXACTLY! The MSM is not going to treat him with a smidgen of respect or deference. They will give him the most through proctological exam in the history of "journalism" if he is the nominee.
IMO, Judge Pirro would have been a better moderator last night rather than snarky Megyn Kelly.
Trump is an equal opportunity insulter.
Why should he treat women differently than he treats men?
By definition that would be sexist!
