The Fox News moderators went after Trump harder than any of his opponents during last nights debate. He started the debate on the defensive over his refusal to rule out an independent bid. Megyn Kelly, one of three moderators, then memorably pushed him on his history of misogynistic comments: Youve called women you dont like fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals. Later, she wondered when he decided to become a Republican and asked about his flip-flops on abortion. The other moderators, Chris Wallace and Breit Baier, forced Trump to defend his past support for a single-payer health-care system, his contributions to Hillary Clinton and the bankruptcies of his companies. They also pressed him for evidence that the Mexican government is sending criminals over the border.
There is mixed evidence about how much of a toll these moments, which would be fatal for any normal candidate, will take on Trumps image. But it seems very possible that last night was a tipping point in the Republican nominating contest. Frank Luntzs post-debate focus group, which aired live on Fox, found many voters who supported Trump going into the two-hour event turning on him. Buzz on the cable network and across most conservative web sites broke decidedly negative, including from commentators who have been sympathetic.

LOL! They "caught no one....and speaking of Trolls - one must suspect one who thinks they did anyone but the Left a service with their antics.
Kelly deserves getting trashed on Facebook. I actually wrote her yesterday and asked her to stay classy and not try a “ Candy Crowley”... But she did anyway. And the huge fake eyelashes just added to the slutty image. Such a shame, she really tarnished herself last night.
Faux News— Flared (egos) and unbalanced (nitwits).
Laura Ingraham would have done a great job asking intelligent questions as a moderator instead of the airhead bitchoid.
When will those three be asked to moderate another presidential debate? Answer: Never.
It’s obvious that the fix by the GOPe was in, and they were told to get rid of Trump. We know that the Democrat promotion of Hillary Clinton as their candidate will not have a debate like the one viewed last night.
Oh, a FReeper.
Yeah she got in the first shot but we’ll see who wins the war.
1) I like how he's gotten the Establishment all shook up.
2) Thus far, he's demonstrated a little of that Reagan quality of transcending the press.
What's interesting is that even on a stage with nine others, the second point makes it appear all the others are pandering to the press, while Trump sits there defiantly saying "I'm not going to play YOUR game, by YOUR rules."
i thought Trump came through okay but did not like his bankruptcy answer- all he had to do was compare the four bankruptcies to the hundreds of successful businesses he’s had, the millions lost by creditors to the 10’s of millions he made for them over the years and the 1100 jobs lost to the 10’s of thousands he employed over the decades...i was begging him to do that...
Why is everyone so surprised about Faux? They turned Left and will never look back.
There were at least two separate threads on FR in the last two days, they were outlining what their stategy was. As I’ve pointed out bfore, Leftists ALWAYS telegraph their punches - but the Right always takes the punch, wondering what hit them.
Lindsay Graham on Morning Joe just called the debate an “inquisition” and defended Trump.
Journalists are typically the last to figure it out. Trump won Drudge’s debate poll so commandingly in large part bc people are nearly as disgusted with journalists as they are with politicians. Trump won; Megyn lost. Don’t anybody hold their breath waiting for the WaPo pundits to figure this out.
At first I thought so to but Kelly was playing devils advocate.
This is what Trump will see when he faces a NBC debate
No Kelly went way beyond playing devils advocate.
She was impossibly partisan, and should be fired.
Very disappointed.
lol....
Trump was what was lame. If he can’t handle Fox news without going semi-ballistic, he has no prospect for a successful future as president
I’m not surprised that Fox News hires hacktivists. What are Kelly’s credentials other than eye-candy?
Well, that might have been true last night, as I think we were all shocked. I don’t think I’ve heard a candidate speak his mind like that. Kinda like having one of Clint Eastwood’s characters on stage.
But this morning, he emerged the victor, clearly.
He’s a different kind of politician, and we Americans are different kinds of people from the rest of the world.
THIS MAN TEACHES US ON HOW TO BE AMERICANS AGAIN. WE, AND EVERYONE ON THE STAGE WITH HIM AND IN THE STANDS ARE APPRENTICES.
