The Fox News moderators went after Trump harder than any of his opponents during last nights debate. He started the debate on the defensive over his refusal to rule out an independent bid. Megyn Kelly, one of three moderators, then memorably pushed him on his history of misogynistic comments: Youve called women you dont like fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals. Later, she wondered when he decided to become a Republican and asked about his flip-flops on abortion. The other moderators, Chris Wallace and Breit Baier, forced Trump to defend his past support for a single-payer health-care system, his contributions to Hillary Clinton and the bankruptcies of his companies. They also pressed him for evidence that the Mexican government is sending criminals over the border.
There is mixed evidence about how much of a toll these moments, which would be fatal for any normal candidate, will take on Trumps image. But it seems very possible that last night was a tipping point in the Republican nominating contest. Frank Luntzs post-debate focus group, which aired live on Fox, found many voters who supported Trump going into the two-hour event turning on him. Buzz on the cable network and across most conservative web sites broke decidedly negative, including from commentators who have been sympathetic.

Sidelining Cruz was by design. Murdoch and Ailes and their 3 Stooges really crapped the nest last night with their stunt.
With all due respect, he said that was what the moderators were implying. Let’s give the devil his due for once.
I went to her Facebook page and the last comments I see are dated June. Hmmmm...
Interesting view bert. I think the intent was to attack for “good TV”. But their unintended result might work out as you say.
If liberals and liberal mouthpieces are praising Fox, what does that tell you. I know who it makes me want to vote for even more.
I listed three real questions he was asked. Are you asking me to do your research got you? Trump may please you but I try to vote for conservatives and Trump is no conservative. Check his history on second amendment, abortion, the deficit, the national debt, and other mainstream conservative issues. Trump is a democrat.
I saw a comment on either her FB page or the foxnews page. The guy said the Megyn should show us her BOOBIES (.)v(.) cause if you’re gonna look like a tart you might as well act like one.
LOL
MEGAN KELLY’S future ratings will tell who out-FOXED who.
It just occurred to me, Kelly needs several big tats and a piercing or three to really complete the picture.
She was a nasty bitch last night.
They are there:

Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos What a disgrace you are Megyn! You come across as unprofessional, vindictive and foolish. You and Chris Wallace need to learn this is a debate for “we the people”, to learn about the candidates, not a cross examination of Donald Trump.. Tell Chris Wallace he gave us the “proof” of what a hack he is. I’ve lost respect for both of you.

Dave Hollock Megan you tried unsuccessfully to embarrass Trump and you look like a fool trying to do it..

Stephanie Medley Megyn Kelly, as a female who was a huge fan of yours, I completely lost all respect for you! I could not believe that after the initial attack of the pledge question that you, that the first direct to Trump question was a thinly veiled personal attack....See More

Bill Bartlett I am very disappointed in you.I will no longer watch the Kelly File.... What can I really believe on that show after your hit piece on Trump. Off to the BBC for me.

Jerri Griffin Yes, Megyn Kelly - you looked very bad. You have been sliding in viewer base for your 9PM show and you need to go back to how you performed when you first started your show. My husband and I used to watch you after watching The Factor but have turned you off recently. You’ve turned into a slimy commentator. Maybe MSNBC has a spot for you.

Susan Cross Macheledt Also....don’t try to call this “hate mail.” It is not hate mail. This outrage is simply calling you out for your unprofessionalism. Learn from it.

Kenneth Middleton Megyn you really have disappointed with last nights commentary as a moderator.

Ken Overbey It looked like a hack job from msnbc last night! I was highly disappointed with what could have been an awesome way to get these candidates msg out! Ya’ll were more worried about making Trump look bad than letting others get their msg out. I see a ratings drop in your future!!!!

Then if you watched the Fox after the debates, Megyn is so giddy and high and the three mods are patting themselves on the back - “how great we are we put it to Trump.”
This is just an entertainment show to them and the American people are desperate out here to find a real Statesman to vote for that will save our country from destruction.
Really bad from Fox. Really, really bad.
He could have deflected her comments. But he didn’t.
Trump would have had to have dealt with this type of tough grilling eventually. I’d prefer to know now if he can handle it, rather than find out (to our regret) later. Megyn was a bit** but eventually he was going to have to deal with a bi**. Or an a**hole. The left is full of them.
Be in my office at 9AM sharp.
Roger
I didn’t watch. Glad I didn’t waste the time.
Kelly is for Kelly. This is one of those learned in k’garten things, no?
And currently, being hard on Trump is good for Fox is good for Kelly.
But imagine her asking Clinton a tough question about tone. About, for example, that historic FJB remark she made.
Same with Wallace and Baier. Fair and balanced they are not.
Why doesn’t Trump spend some money building his own news network? Why do conservatives not pool funds to do that? Why do we allow the opposition to frame American thinking?
You know Trump kicked Fox’s ass and Megyn’s specifically when the WaPo praises Fox and her.
It will be interesting to see if Fox responds to any of this. I think they thought they were very clever and damaged Trump last night. The reality is that they probably damaged themselves more. Looking at the thousands of FB posts on the various Fox pages, they are getting obliterated for their performance last night. I have checked out several media sites with stories praising Fox for attacking Trump and the comments are running 100 to 1 negative against Fox.
I haven’t made up my mind about Trump yet, but I don’t think Fox’s performance is going to have the affect they think it is. I would not be surprised to see Trump get a bump in the polls.
