"Fox is helping to winnow the field and toughen the candidates."
The only thing that Fox is winnowing with this fiasco is its own viewership. Screwed the pooch.
Too much babbling by the moderators, too many candidates on stage (should be no more than four or five per debate), no opening statements allowed, very little statesmanship on display by the candidates, too much show-biz and too many zingers, and a sense that the whole thing is just meandering aimlessly.

FOX looks afraid of Cruz, period.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)

This is proof the Fox hosts are no different to the rest of the DC press....they think its all about them (Megyn Kelly is tarted up like its the Academy Awards) Exactly right.
The candidates are just guests at THEIR party.

Well, Trump wasn’t even given the chance to shine nor to present his ideas.
Every question was a personal attack.
RIGHT from the get-go!

Trump has handled himself much better than I predicted. He has used restraint.

My Mexican fiancee (no I’m not Jeb) says even though she didn’t like the rape comment by Trump she agrees with everything else he is saying. It’s more important to her that the US President defends Israel than Mexico.

Kasich is smooth. Too bad he is a socialist.

He said it was an idea for it’s time, but the time has passed. Now he wants a private system without state boundaries. State boundaries artificially limit competition, he said.
He is so right. Goodman’s plan, perhaps?

Cruz has been ignored which is a shame.
Walker is answering the questions well but he comes across as a slimy pretty boy. Yeah, FReepers like him but to each his own.

Cruz has already proved tonight that he is POTUS material.
Trump does one term and Cruz goes in.
Jeb Bush is the biggest LOSER on the stage tonight.

Then after the debate they will say Trump didn’t offer any plans.
