Carly Fiorina was the clear winner of the early Republican presidential debateat least according to social media.
The former Hewlett Packard CEO joined six other contenders who failed to qualify for the evenings main event, which is restricted to the top ten candidates in recent polls. However, her performance in the undercard event generated a great deal of online enthusiasm.

Not Linsdey I am shocked.
I distinctly remember hearing back then, more than once, that she was not pro-life.
Besides the riff on Trump, she didn't say a single thing that wasn't part of her stump speech. "Canned answers" is hardly knocking it out of the park.
I thought he was a dork, unprepared and begging for a vote "just because he wants it".
Lindsey for sure, possibly jeb. I wouldn't want to see either one of them with a GOPe controlled Congress.
Not this womanfolk. I’m a Cruzer.
The “kids’ table debate”. Mark Steyn
Several of Donald Trump’s business ventures went bankrupt, while the companies Carly Fiorina led were never close to bankruptcy.
And, of course, none of the other candidates ever led a major company.
There’s a large segment of Republican voters — women, many of them in business — who will naturally identify with Carly Fiorina — not only because she’s a Republican woman like themselves, or because she’s been successful, but because she’s already being judged by an unfair double standard — as demonstrated by the fact that she’s already being excoriated as a bad business woman, even though her record proves otherwise, while Donald Trump’s bankruptcies and other bad business decisions have never been mentioned in all the weeks he’s been in the spotlight.
Fox News Radio talking heads pushing Fiorina bigtime ! “ Carly now trending bigger than Trump . “ Hit Trump between the eyes . Comparing her to Thatcher !!!!!!
I didn’t buy Jindal. He was too scripted and cliche. I saw it as a poor performance on his part.
This was the pre-primary debate at the kids table. The real one starts at
9pm Est (sp) where they'll have fireworks and real John Wayne Whiskey
instead of that maddog2020 Graham was sipping from inside his laced bra.
Agree. As I said...scripted.
to be fair, she was given a loaded anti-trump question that should never have been asked.
Then she’s got a helluva stump speech and the others ought to pay attention. Bush had a pretty canned stump speech too.
That is true. And I guess it's a valid point. But one also has to take into account the nature of the businesses they were in. Real estate development is much more speculative than the Fortune 500 corporate world.
I think everyone was trying to swim in murky waters during the Dot Com bubble. Corporations were making correct decisions as well bad mistakes. HP survived the mistakes which says the correct decisions kept them in business.
“Several of Donald Trumps business ventures went bankrupt, while the companies Carly Fiorina led were never close to bankruptcy.”
Four of them went into Chapter 11. That’s 4 out of 500 businesses that Trump has. Get that? 4 OUT OF 500. Puts it into a better perspective, doesn’t it. Sure didn’t stop him back then, did it? As now he sits on a 10 billion dollar empire.
Piyush Jindal is a talker. The state of Louisiana is broke, regardless of the words that come out of Jindal’s mouth. PT, I’ll tell you like I tell all Jindal lovers....do your homework. Jindal will not win his “home” state....I won’t vote for him, and I don’t think odawg will, either.
