Donald Trump vows to bring back the millions of American jobs lost to China and other foreign competitors if voters put him in the White House.
Economists say he wouldn

So...what? We shouldn’t even try?
Great news for Trump seeing as how everything that happens is “unexpected” to economists.
Those same brain-trust economists predicted that trade would provide more jobs than it took away. They also predicted that trade would mean the end to recessions.
With forty million plus out of work here, and an ongoing recession of a duration of more than a decade, I’d say we’ve listened to them long enough.
I’d almost agree to blindfolds and a ditch, but I’d settle for them simply being unable to find work like all the folks who lost their jobs over the last twenty years, because of their incredible irrational stupidity.
“Economists” to the nation: “Resistance is futile. You must assimilate to the New World Order”.
You can’t necessarily bring back every job, but you certainly can deregulate and eliminate federal departments that are geared towards making it difficult to create companies in America. You can also create a solid financial plan to pay down the debt and make deficit spending outside war time illegal.
That would bring back a lot of jobs.
We have got economic imbeciles here.
If he cuts the corporate tax rate to -0- as his tax program plans to do...jobs will fly back to the U.S.
Horse manure. The loss of jobs to China was due to stupid decisions made by Nixon, Bush I, and Clinton. And of course, Obama, the King of Economic Wreckers.
Not that it will be easy to fix. Our factories have been closing for decades, and it won’t be easy to turn things around.
“We shouldnt even try?”
That’s what they’re saying. Might as well go French and surrender, according to these clowns.
This from a so called conservative paper?...Bu____it. Tariff’s ...award American manufacturers for bringing everything back home...tax laws would favor all forms of business such as mining ...oil/gas....build refineries...etc... this ASS is a defeatist nothing more...Accompany that with purging all...ALL undesireables from our republic and watch the giant rise once again....NOTHING is impossible.
Not to mention that most of them are plodding salary workers at some university or con-job institution.
Trump has mastered practical market economics: he sells things people want...even if they didn't know they wanted them.
He's beyond a PhD in Economics.
More like paid ass-assins.
Exactly how many jobs has ANY economist created??
I would like to offshore these “economists” to China and elsewhere.
Permanently.
Also it is an AP piece of propoganda...Paul Wiseman wrote it ...F K him.
The jobs we lost will not come back. The unemployed union members drinking piss beer in the decaying union hall next to the obsolete closed factory in the rust belt city are no different than the natives of the South Pacific making airplanes out of sticks and wattle in hopes that the metal birds will return some day and disgorge endless quantities of Spam and cigarettes.
The old jobs are not coming back. No American will spend his shift mindlessly screwing the same bolt into the same engine block. But new, high, tech jobs managing sophisticated precision industrial equipment can be created in the rignt business climate. I strongly suspect Trump knows this.
I hope to God he brings in Art Laffer.
The Federal Government is paying $ tens of billions in welfare, disability, extended unemployment for 20 million able-bodied Americans to sit home
Our ridiculous, tort-laws increase the costs of insurance and liability such that its legally much safer to employ workers overseas
The highest corporate tax rate in the developed world means jobs will leave the USA for elsewhere
Obamacare will destroy small firms that employ over 50 workers.
