Malaysia's prime minister has confirmed that the piece of an airplane wing found on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean last week is in fact from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
"Today, 515 days since the plane disappeared, it is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370," Najib Razak wrote on his Facebook page. "We now have physical evidence that, as I announced on 24th March last year, flight MH370 tragically ended in the southern Indian Ocean."
The families of those on board the fateful flight were called and told to tune in to the Paris press conference, which will be held in minutes, where they will hear it for themselves.
"The burden and uncertainty faced by the families during this time has been unspeakable," Razak said. It is my hope that this confirmation, however tragic and painful, will at least bring certainty to the families and loved ones of the 239 people onboard MH370. They have our deepest sympathy and prayers.

French news conference difficult to follow poor translator. Too many um uh etc
they have confirmed that it was from a 777.
515 days? Hard to believe its been that long.
I say it was Islamic Nazi’s that brought down the plane.
Has it really been 515 days?! I can’t believe it took so long for something to turn up.
Not just a 777 but THE actual 777 that went down. H370. Two sources including Boeing
The shells are interesting. That flaperon accumulated quite a few before it finally washed ashore.
you are correct, I presume.
Mourning over at CNN.
That part didn’t make it through the CNN black hole?

Doing more research in France regarding other materials found tomorrow.
No.They have confirmed it was the 777, MH370.
Very punny. wolf blitzer is talking with the pentagon to shoot down something, anything.
This item is as likely to have drifted to Reunion from the West Coast of Australia as water splpilled on your kitchen floor winds up in a vase you have stored behind the winter clothes in the upstairs hall closet.
The prevailing south setting currents are more likely to have carried the wreckage from a location consistent with the early morning sightings of MH370 near the Maldives.
It supposedly washed up from somewhere down deep in the water?
How much more plausible would it be that someone planted that flaperon there?
HF
You’re not even close. The Maldives would be under the influence of the Equatorial Counter Current going in the wrong direction. Anything washing up at Reunion Island would be under the influence of the South Equatorial Current which sweeps the western Australian coast and moves it west.
How much more plausible would it be that someone planted that flaperon there?

With the barnacles and such that are all over it ... not terribly plausible at all.
wait for what?
every sane person knew the plane was down in the ocean
Don’t be so cynical. That piece could have fell out of the sky and landed in that pristine green grass a long way from the water.
