Donald Trump - who Fox News said literally will be at the center of its GOP primary debate on Thursday - is already feeling the heat from network hosts.
On Tuesday, Fox's Bill O'Reilly grilled the billionaire businessman on his claim that as president he will get Mexico to pay for a wall on the southern U.S. border to help prevent undocumented immigrants from crossing into the United States.
"Bill, they're making a fortune, Mexico is making a fortune off the United States, it's becoming the new China in terms of trade -- they're killing us at the border," Trump said after O'Reilly pressed him twice on the same question.
The third time O'Reilly asked, Trump said, "I'm gonna say, 'Mexico, this is not going to continue, you're going to pay for that wall,' and they will pay for the wall. ..."

Mexico needs us—more than we need them—Threaten trariffs and use them to build the wall. The cartels will cry foul because they can’t get uber rich off American Drug addicts. If could be done—but who has the resolve? Who would oppose the catel-ran Mexican narco-state. Put a lid on Mexico might spark a revolution in that sad land. A Communist state could emerge that would slaughter the cartels (and a lot of other folks).
And that is why polls have consistently shown him being beat by Bernie Sanders and Biden of all people. LOL.
Ronald Reagan never said how the Berlin Wall would come down, but it did.
I never heard Trump say that we will stop lining their pockets with factories. Never.
But if we did do that, are we going to go after U.S. factories putting factories in Mexico?
Is that hard-core gov’t control of business?
Isn’t that fascism or at least fascism lite?
So here it is...
You bring up threats of tariffs.
Just like I said might happen.
And they who already have tariffs on our goods then increase them.
There are other ways to level the playing field, right?
You may be right, but I haven’t really heard anybody else address it in a long, long time.
Meanwhile, Obama and his crowd, and also the New World Order gang, have jacked our “car” up, put it on blocks, and called in other nations to steal the “wheels”.
False comparison.
Apples to Oranges.
Imports to the USA amount to about 3 trillion a year, virtually all of it duty free. A 10% tariff would balance the budget( if gov spending returned to 2008 levels ) and stop the devaluation ( “quantitative easing” ) of the US Dollar immediately. That is just the financial effect, it also would incentivize US manufactures to upgrade older US factories instead of off shoring. It would slow the halt of the suicidal de industrialization that is going on in the USA.
I do think its interesting that Trump targets Ford, the company that didn’t take the bailout he supported. Ford is clearly a better run company than GM or Chrysler but Trump acts like they’re shipping jobs out by the thousands.
There are 4 Ford plants in Mexico vs 27 in the USA. There are 3 Ford plants in Canada so they’re almost as bad as Mexico so maybe we should impose tariffs on them too.

You’re a Michigander so you understand the realities of the automotive industry. It obviously hurts to lose any factory but companies don’t do it because they’re big meanies, they close or relocate for economic reasons.
I just posted to one such poll quoted on FR now—it was two weeks ago when Trump’s negatives were much higher and his positives much lower, it was a poll of “adults”, it was something of a push-poll asking about Trump dropping out or running third party before asking preferences, and of those polled, 41% had never heard of Sanders, while another 13% had heard of him but had no opinion.
I’d get your panties out of a wad on Trump’s polling numbers if I were you.
>> I think Trump is saying that, for once in a long, long time, he will bite back to work out fairer deals for the US and our workers.<<
Oh give me a break! If I have to read one more person putting words that Trump isn’t actually saying into his mouth so that they can justify supporting him, I think I’ll puke.
He has no policy ideas whatsoever. None. Virtually everything he says has been contradicted in the past by one very important person, Trump himself.
But go ahead, support old “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” if it makes you feel better. He’s as credible as Howard Beale ever was.
Oh I get it, you’re smearing Trump because you think smearing Trump will help Cruz. Here is a clue. Trump is polling near 30%, maybe it is a bad idea to go around insulting 30% of the primary voters. Just a thought.
You really, truly believe that Mexico will be made to build the wall? Through "negotiations"?
I said “troll” and you volunteered. Join dates and IQ seem to be quite independent of each other.
From what I can tell in scanning the comments, Trump said he’ll have Mexico pay for the wall and now his supporters are dreaming up ways to get the money out of Mexico.
Hint: Mexico isn’t going to pay for any wall, but dreamers will dream.
Meanwhile, as Trump sucks the oxygen out of the room, the Iran deal proceeds apace...and Iran WILL pay for a nuke.
The people who support import tariffs must all be independently wealthy. They act like import tariffs will impact a handful of products that can be easily avoided but the reality is that virtually nothing would be untouched including things that are manufactured here.
I used to make interior door skins for Cadillacs. The plastic pellets that were melted down and molded into the basic shape came from China, The vinyl that was glued to that shape came from somewhere else. The paint I applied came from Canada. The Bose speakers that went into the doors came from the east coast. Switches, lights, and reflectors all came from Asia. The finished part went to Livonia where it was combined into a finished American Cadillac using major parts produced locally, in Mexico and Canada as well as many other foreign made parts.
Imposing tariffs will drive the cost of all cars up by thousands of dollars.
Do you really want him to tell how he is going to build the wall and have Mexico pay for it, and divulge his plan to Mexico? Get real. I wouldn’t tip them off.
How about a surcharge on all those money transfers the illegals send to their home countries? Slap a hefty fee on those and use it to build a wall. Just a thought.
He has a phone and a pen. We’ve seen it work.
