Hypersonic flight using ram-jets (as opposed to rocket motors) is in its infancy.
LM’s HTV is experiencing technical difficulties and a few have basically came apart and/or lost total control.
This technology has a way to go. . .so I wonder, how does one patent an idea that is not technically feasible? Perhaps I can patent "warp drive" or "phasers". . .they are ideas and some research in those areas has taken place, so, my patent application would be on par with these guys. . .right?

Fly to UK in an hour sounds great except it takes an hour on the ground to fly out of JFK, then another 2 hours in a holding pattern to land, plus 30 minutes to taxi to a gate. An hour in flight is barely enough time for a nap.

The toughest obstacle isn’t the technology.
It’s turning a reasonable profit.
20 passengers?
What’s the ticket going to cost, $50,000.00 one way?

The cocpit temperature of the Blackbird was over 400 degrees. The space suited pilot could bake a cake in his lap. That was Mach 3.4 and the titanium was at it’s thermal limits. Good luck.

I thought he was trying a little too hard to make it entertaining. I was half expecting him to break out into a rap song.

Not only that, but Concorde was banned from many routes because of the sonic boom. The problem is still there. I agree, it doesn’t make any sense..

undeterred, apparently, by the fact that they’ll never break even with the a380, now they’ll step on this land mine.
