Trump receives the backing of 26 percent of self-identified Republican primary voters -- up from 18 percent in mid-July and 11 percent a month ago. Thats not only the highest level of support for Trump, but its also the highest any GOP candidate has received since the Fox poll began asking the question in December 2013.

Switching to the Democratic side, Clinton is still the favorite among self-identified Democratic primary voters. She receives 51 percent while Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders comes in at 22 percent. Yet that is Clintons worst showing -- and Sanders best. Support for Clinton was 59 percent two weeks ago, 61 percent a month ago -- and has been as high as 63 percent in the months since Sanders entered the race. Vice President Joe Biden, who is said to be considering a run, sits at 13 percent support.
By an 18-point margin, Republican primary voters (74 percent) are more likely than their Democratic counterparts (56 percent) to be extremely or very interested in the 2016 election.

I really think Trump is there to prevent a conservative from emerging against Bush. When Trump is out, Bush is the only one left standing.
Many on FR don’t look at Fox News as a news reporting enterprise. They insist that it be an ideologue organization that gives public voice to conservative thought and causes. One tiny deviation from Conservatism and they’re up in arms, ready to march on Fox and execute the entire news-gathering staff and anchors. A shame, really. We want to be smarter than the progressuve-liberal Democrats, and yet our people keep pulling this kind of nonsense.
Organized a debate party at your local sports bar. Am sure they’d love to reserve you a. TV if you being them business
I hope we have a President Walker in 2016.....I don’t care who wins the debate...big whoop. I want Governor Walker to get the nomination and he is closer then most at least.
This demonstrates that those of us who want to overturn the old order have to coalesce around the candidate who can beat Bush.
Half the GOP candidates will fold before Iowa...leaving 8 or 9.
Rick Perry will not be on the big stage Thursday night.
Wasn’t Giuliani ahead at this stage of the race in 2007?
That's funny right there. I don't care who you are.
Trump would destroy Hillary! in the general. Who else is willing to call her a criminal like Trump has?
Giuliani is not Trump. Giuliani support back then was about a micron deep. Trump has withstood everything plus the kitchen thrown at him and he’s still kicking butt. Trump is the best on the campaign stump where no one compares.
If Trump wins the first few primaries by a plurality, where do the Carson/Cruz/Huckabee/Paul voters go when their guys start to drop out? Combine them with Trump’s and you have 50%.
Krauthammer just called Trump "the Teflon Don". He admits he was completely wrong when he predicted Trump would be a flash in the pan. He now thinks Trump is in to win it.
Trump is the Teflon Don?
Obama is the first Flubber President. Things don’t just slide off him, they bounce off and accelerate in the Opposite Direction.
I think Hillary was hoping to steal Obama’s Flubber, but it is entirely possible that The Donald might get to it first.
I think the First Debate will tell the tale. What fun.
That’s a great idea, except that neither DH nor I drink. Most of our friends don’t drink, either. It might be a little awkward, if you know what I mean. (We’re not teetotalers or anything, we just happen to not.)
