Based on Real Clear Politics’ comprehensive average of data from the nation’s top polling outfits for the 2016 GOP presidential contest, Donald Trump holds a commanding 9.5 point lead against his fellow Republican hopefuls. But that number could be the least of the GOP establishment’s worries.
Michael Needham, chief executive of the Heritage Action for America super PAC, said Sunday that Trump’s popularity has a great deal to do with Republican voters’ overall dissatisfaction with the GOP establishment.
“Most Republican voters hate their party, and that’s what needs to be addressed,” Needham said on “Fox News Sunday.”
The conservative figure said that Trump has something to offer to voters on the right who are sick of the GOP establishment treating the political process like “a game” for Washington insiders.

The republican party as no one to blame but themselves.
They took advantage of their supporters for way too long. The people don’t like what either party is doing.

I think there are a HUGE amount of dems that would vote for him as well.
He represents a rejection of old-style politics. A rejection of the idea that politicians LIE and do it without any sort of remorse at all. A rejection of the Hildebeast and her pant-suits and her endless meandering about making America better and all that horsecrap without any specific ideas at all.

I agree...I'm seeing people who haven't expressed political opinions ever speak up for trump. These are the mushy middle voters that they're all trying to go after all the time. Low information voters and Trump is getting them already.

ANYBODY who can dismantle the Establishment deserves some decent support!
If nothing else, Trump has already proven to be the only one with the ability to break through the smoke and mirrors put up by a completely corrupt media, and showcase how to take on the betrayals and corruption of the Republican Party!
We have a shadow of a chance here if this all works, and I want to take it.
Thomas Sowell just wrote that Trump will never win the Republican nod and that his “talk” hurts the Republican Party. Sowell says 60 percent of the Republicans won’t vote for Trump because they don’t trust him. I don’t trust any of them, either side of the uni party. Trump though isn’t a professional bull crapper. So what is it he leads the polls or no one will vote for him. He is no Reagan but every word they speak sounds like a rerun of the 1980 race.
I watched Needham on Fox News Sunday yesterday and I totally agree with him. He has intuited the true fear and loathing most of us feel toward the party at this point.
Better yet, Blythe, CA, the only town in the U.S. that could be improved by on site atmospheric nuclear testing.
And that is indeed the one thing I like about him.

I have a feeling that he would govern as a populist, since he has no ideology. In practice, it would be more of the same.

2) Just because he doesn't have a full blown WF Buckley/Milton Friedman conservative ideology doesn't mean he doesn't have a well developed set of programs. They are in his book. We could do a helluva lot worse.
3) If you mean that he would govern according to polls or media criticism, this is wrong. He has shown he doesn't care what people think, how much money it costs him, or what the media says. He does what he thinks is right. Now, I don't take that to mean if he did something and it was overwhelmingly unpopular---like Obama does---he would ignore that. Quite the contrary, like any good businessman he'd say, hmm, I need to re-think the product/program.
He's far less of a threat than a GOPe type working in collusion with the Dems.
