p>At a standing-room only event in Beverly Hills on Saturday, Presidential Candidate and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke to a packed synagogue of people angry about the Obama Administration’s newly inked deal with the Republic of Iran.
In his statements, Cruz took time to differentiate what a Cruz Presidency’s foreign policy would look like as compared to the current administration.
Here are some excerpts from his speech:
“Today the threats facing Israel, the threats facing America, the threats facing the world have never been greater.
When we call evil by its name, it has a clarifying power that has never been more needed than it is this instant, right now.
Mr. President, we see across the globe the rise in radical Islamic terror. i’ll tell you right now you cannot win a war on radical Islamic terror with a president and an administration unwilling to utter the words “radical Islamic terror.”
Cruz seemed annoyed withe the Obama administration’s refusal to call Islamic Extremism, Terrorism. In relation to the attacks in Paris at a Jewish deli, was frustrated with the administration’s calling the attack “random.”
Cruz has been a vocal opponent to the Iran Deal calling it the “most catastrophic threat facing American today.” Cruz continued discussing his public debate with the President.
“My saying so prompted President Obama in Africa this week to go out of his way and attack me directly for having the temerity to say it. Sadly, a fellow Republican, Mitt Romney, sends a tweet this week saying acknowledging that fact was over the line and the rhetoric was not helpful. Well, I would like to state to the President and any other public leaders, the truth is not rhetoric. Here are the facts. Iran is today the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world. Fact number two. When this deal goes through, more than $100 billion will flow from US govt control directly into Iran.”
Fact number three is that we know for a metaphysical certainty that billions of those dollars will go directly to Hamas… Iran is funding terrorism across the globe. Now, the US government controls billions of dollars, and it releases those billions of dollars into the hands of jihadists who use that money to murder Americans, to murder Israelis… and the responsibility for those murders lies on the administration who sent…”
He then reiterated a challenge made to the President:
“I invited President Obama to participate in a one-on-one over the Iran nuclear deal at the time and place of his choosing.”
He specifically called out Obama’s statements on the Iran Deal as empty rhetoric.
“Those are the facts. And let me say, rhetoric is refusing to speak the truth.”
During a heated exchange in a Senate hearing earlier this week, Cruz was specifically upset with Secretary Kerry’s refusal to acknowledge that Iran was responsible for the deaths of several Americans. In relation to that exchange, Cruz challenged administration officials.
“If this deal is such a good idea, then I challenge President Obama and Secretary Kerry and Secretary Clinton to come and look in the eyes of the mothers and fathers who have lost their soldiers and tell them it’s a good idea.”
Shortly after the agreement between Iranian and American officials, the Ayatollah tweeted a representation of what appeared to be President Obama committing suicide.
In the midst of negotiating this deal, Ayatollah Khameini led a chant of “Death to America” while American flags were burning. If history teaches one principle, it is that if somebody tells you they want to kill you, believe them.
Cruz finished by issuing a campaign promise:
In January of 2017 there will be a new president. And in 2017, if I am fortunate enough to be elected President, the United States will finally move our embassy to Jerusalem.
What do you think of Senator Cruz’s comments? Too harsh? Or on point?

Seventy years ago, on August 6, 1945, the first atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.
This August 6, join NTI, partners and people around the world in a coordinated social media “ThunderClap” campaign. Tell leaders that we must work to build a safer world, and express your support for the Iran agreement. Sign up now.
Today, the nuclear risk is growing. A massive nuclear exchange is less likely, but a nuclear attack is more likely. The Iran agreement is an example of diplomacy and leadership overcoming extremely difficult challenges. Despite a deficit of trust and confidence, negotiators from multiple countries were able to forge an agreement thatas our co-founder and CEO Senator Sam Nunn said recentlywill make it extremely difficult for Iran to develop a bomb in the next 10-to-15 years. The consequences of rejecting the hard-fought deal, he said, would be very severe.
We need your help to send this message on Twitter and Facebook:
70 years after 1st #nuclear bomb dropped on #Hiroshima, we must build a safer world.
I support the #IranDeal.
It couldn’t be easier! A ThunderClap is a crowd-speaking platform. If you are on Twitter or Facebook, please sign up! The message will be posted on August 6 at noon (ET). By launching the messages simultaneously and across all of our social media networks, our message rises above the noise.
On Veterans Day in 1948at the dawn of the nuclear age after the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki—General Omar Bradley said in a speech: The world has achieved brilliance without wisdom, power without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing than we know about living.
On this anniversary, we can demonstrate that decades later, the world can get beyond heated rhetoric. We can listen to the experts who agree that the Iran deal is the best means we have today for preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
