With debate looming, Trump has huge lead in latest poll (Trump at 26%)

The identities of the 10 Republicans likely to be on stage at Thursday’s presidential debate are coming into focus after another poll on Monday shows Donald Trump running away from the rest of the field and Rick Perry lagging behind his competitors for the final spot.

A new Monmouth University poll has Trump at 26 percent, easily topping his competitors. The next-closest candidates — former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker — are at 12 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

Both the new Monmouth survey and an average of the five most-recent live-caller polls — Fox News’ criteria for whittling the list of Republicans down to 10 candidates for Thursday night’s debate — reinforce the tiers that have developed since Trump upended the race by surging to the top

” Trump is not afraid of Hillary either...”

Well, of course that’s because Trump is Hillary’s secret accomplice and clearing the way for her.

LOL...sorry...just thought I’d say it before an anti and take away their joy ;)

Can’t wait for the debates. Will Trump be outrageous or will he be serious?

Your groupings are correct but in the Cruz Group Ted is trending up and the rest are trending down. I predicted that Cruz would settle in at #4. That’s within striking distance for me.

Yes it is and who are you to question Jane’s or anyone else’s conservatism? Your jealousy is evident, all candidates need to earn their way to winning.

But, of course, it’s not meant to be an actual debate is it? An actual debate would actually involve identifying key issues, their stand on those issues, identifying root causes giving rise to the issues, and explaining how and why their proposals would solve the root problems and conclude the issue.

That might take more than a few minutes. The only ones that care about that stuff is the average Joe who still loves freedom and America. The MSM, the GOP, and most of the politician candidates have no interest in such examination.

So, it’s more of a political fashion show and the one with the best one-liners on the runway wins.

“BUT.....Trump and Mike Huckabee are not scheduled to appear.”

I imagine he wants to keep the others nervous, not knowing how he will act. Cruz will be the only one able to deal with him, no matter how he acts.

Same experience here. One of the bible study teachers started class by saying he’s the Donald Trump of our church, there to shake things up and make us think.

Trump has got a lot of people interested

“If they all attack and he stays cool and calm, he will come off as presidential and they will look like idiots.”

Especially if he ignores the RINO’s taunts and goes after Obama and the moderators instead.

Maybe Trump bought all the ad time during the debate, wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

I have found myself feeling just like your church community.

I also add whenever I can that getting a decent guy in the WH is a step but not a solution. Another step is the COS preferably the one proposed by CSG. I call those offensive “top-down” measures (trying to fix the feds form the top - tough).

But there’s also individual states who can and should RIGHT NOW decide to reject and nullify unconstitutional federal acts like Obamacare and minimum wage for example. I call that defensive bottoms-up measures the states should implement to protect their citizens from federal tryanny.

IMO, all of the above would be helpful. We need to cut the $4 trillion beast down to its constitutional size which is about $800 billion - so cutting about $3 trillion. Not a five-minute job.

This may not help how you’re seeing this, but another way to look at it is this election is important but not sufficient.

If we’re going to be a politically free country again, the Constitution must once again be reinstated as the Supreme Law of the Land. Doing that includes cutting the $3 trillion unconstitutional portion out of the $4 trillion feds. That’s going to take more than a POTUS. It’s going to take a full-court press at all levels including a valid and well-conceived COS preferably the one proposed by CSG, nullification of unconstitutional federal acts at the individual state level.

It’s also going to take hearts turning back to trusting God and not man. That may be the most important thing of all.

Yeah, Megan Kelly seems to think her calling is to try to take down whoever she’s interviewing. She’s always playing “devil’s advocate”. So yeah, she’ll probably try to challenge Trump, but mostly to appear “fair and balanced” which I don’t particularity care for. I care for reason and value.

IMO, Trump is vulnerable on certain issues like the economy and possibly the Constitution, which few seem to get right. But he so strongly believes in his solutions that he will probably blow anyone off the stage who challenges him. In Trump’s favor, it is obvious to me he’s doing this for only one reason: he loves America and wants to help fix America. If I’m right, he may be willing to make the necessary adjustments on the way.

Wow .... I sure hope Trump is taking this seriously .... What candidate in history would not have killed for these numbers. If he holds it together during the debates, he has nowhere to go but to the White House. I like him but I do hope he’s for real ..... This country is in too big of a mess for games.
