This week, the Republican-led House passed a bill, the “PASSPORT REVOCATION ACT,” to give President Barack Obama the power to revoke or deny passports to individuals who his administration SUSPECTS may be affiliated with foreign terrorist organizations.
While the bill sounds sensible, in that preventing possible radicals from fleeing into the arms of the Islamic State group makes sense, it gives Obama the right to deprive Americans of their constitutional rights without a jury trial.
The bill allows the government to effectively ROB you of your passport if it THINKS you are guilty, regardless of whether you are actually guilty.
“This means the SECRETARY OF STATE CAN, unilaterally, with NO DUE PROCESS AND NO OVERSIGHT, deprive an American citizen the privileges of citizenship, thus relegating him to INTERNAL EXILE INSIDE the United States — a practice most recently PERFECTED IN THE SOVIET UNION,” Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity chief Daniel McAdams explained to reporters.
This should horrify all Americans, especially given that we live under a president who seems CONTENT TO DETAIN SUSPECTS WITHOUR DUE PROCESS and even kill American citizens overseas by drone strike.
And worse, PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SEEMS INCREASINGLY TO DEFINE ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH HIM AS AN "EXTREMIST OR “RADICAL.”
Perhaps the saddest part about this is that our spineless Republican legislators just handed this power to Obama with little debate.
Some, like bill sponsor Rep. Ted Poe, even defended it on the basis that it will allegedly “help law enforcement locate” potential terrorists (H/T The New American).
Actually, all the bill does is DEGRADE the U.S. Constitution and the liberties guaranteed by it. And at the rate Obama is going, with the help of the GOP, the Constitution will eventually wind up being nothing but a page of parchment that reads, “Made in America.”
Americans can be sure that without a serious effort to rein in the attacks on the U.S. Constitution and the liberties it protects, the lawless extremism pouring out of Washington, D.C., will continue to accelerate.

Well. This is just foolish. The Federal Government isn’t you enemy; they’re your FRIEND!
Don’t think about all that “stranger-danger” crap your parents told you about. When the man-in-the-van comes around saying “I’m from the government, do you want some candy? Get in my van” It’s completely okay. Go on, it’s okay! What could go wrong?
I'm okay with that. In a few short months if will be President Trump and Secretary of State Palin deciding who the extremists and radicals are.

Not good, we have a president and administration that they will not execute the law of the land equally but use it to favor political friends and punish political enemies.
Along with the traitorous SCOTUS majority, we now have all three branches of the federal government controlled by traitors to the United States of America.
It was good while it lasted, but America, you can now kiss your Constitutional rights goodbye!

He already executed American citizens with drones in Yemen where we have no declared war

You realize that in 2008 treasury secretary Paulson threatened to ring the Capitol with arms( I belive he may have said “ tanks”) if Congress did not vote Yes on the $700 billion bank bailout in Sep or Oct 2008 ( cannot remember date, only that they were given days or hours and an ultimatum to vote yes with minimum details of why or what)
And they voted yes and life went on with no comment about this
And that obama armed park rangers and held Americans out of national parks and monuments at gunpoint ( and imprisoned overnight a group,of tourists at Yellowstone lodge lest they even step outside to look at the mountains)
And Congress gave obama what he wanted so life went on and nobody ever comments about this

I thought I'd turn it around a bit and fight the next war's battles.
About the only way I can think of planting a thought-seed in a Libturd's brain of just how dangerous such powers are, is by projecting a future where a President they despise is allowed to wield such power.
I don't know if it will work but, hey, it's worth a try, n'est-ce pa?
