Same old song and dance, which is why Romney was nominated (both Huckabee and Santorum being in allowed Romney to win the nomination) and we ended up with a Moslem socialist realigning our military to support Iran while the Internet entertains us ...

af_vet_1981:

I have no interest in Huckleberry and, though I voted for him in the 2012 primary, because he was the last conservative (social, military, foreign policy) standing against the Romney tidal wave of Wall Street and K Street greedypig money, I think it is time for Santorum to give up the pretense that he is a serious candidate. He should withdraw.

I have always admired Bobby Jindal and his awesome competence but he is not getting the nomination either. He should withdraw. Senator Vitter is running to replace Jindal at the end of Jindal's term. Jindal, a Brown University alumnus could teach or be appointed as Vitter's successor in the U. S. Senate and then for a full term or become a cabinet secretary of almost any department in the next administration.

Dr. Ben Carson is apparently a superb man and was an extraordinary pediatric neurosurgeon who had the sense to retire before advancing age might betray his surgical hands. I am puzzled by his recent success in polls but I doubt it will last. He has a very compelling backstory as to how he rose from fatherless welfare child in the Detroit ghetto to the pinnacle of medicine as a pediatric neurosurgeon of major note. Politics is also a profession as he and Trump will likely discover when some innocent remark blows up in their faces. I would trust Dr. Carson or Bobby Jindal, as cabinet members, to dismantle Obozocare and put it out of our misery and begin to deconstruct the abortion mansion. POTUS for either seems not in the cards.

Rick Perry seems quite unlikely to be ready for prime time despite his success as governor in the very important state of Texas. He is running out of money and time and excuses for running. He should withdraw.

Rand Paul is not Ron Paul but is that enough? He is pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun and he intends long overdue outreach to blacks and Hispanics. He still has the family albatross of intentionally wimpy foreign and military policy. I think he is a lot more talented than is indicated by his campaign to date but seems, understandably, to be far more concerned about legal maneuvering to create a Kentucky caucus system for re-nomination to the Senate to get around some legal prohibition on running in two primaries (POTUS and Senate) on one day. He plays an interesting and important role in the Senate and should stay there for now. He is young enough to run in the future.

Speaking of young (and charismatic at that), there is Marco Rubio who is giving up a hard-won Senate seat. I like his personality more than any of the others while recognizing that his "comprehensive immigration" blunder with Schmucky Chewmer, John McCain, Linda Graham and others has badly damaged his credibility with that large swath of GOP voters and other voters who are obsessed (probably rightly so) with the matter of our country being overrun by foreigners selected for their probable allegiance to the Demonratic Party. OTOH, Rubio has a compelling backstory of his parents fleeing Cuba for freedom and working here as a bartender and as a hotel maid, charm to burn, a future-orientation and vision that appeals to the young who are otherwise not favorable to the GOP, and he knows how to sell all of us descended from immigrants on that heritage. So far, he is the star of this class in terms of pure political talent but a bit damaged over the immigration issue as well. Tough foreign and military policy, solidly social conservative. It is also claimed that he is being funded by the usual gang of GOP-E suspects who funded Romney. That will not help his image. I still have an open mind on Rubio, who also seems to be quickly rising in polls although again I don't know why.

Scott Walker has the most Reagan-like credentials. A good gut politician. Says what he means and means what he says. Wisconsin, courtesy of Walker's leadership, now has open carry of guns, a lot of pro-life progress, Right to Work both public and private(to defund the unions and the Demonrats, inter alia), is attacking teacher tenure at the Maoist/Lenininist/Stalinist University of Wisconsin and elsewhere, saved the Wisconsin Supreme Court majority from recall, enacted legislation to require photo ID to vote, beat his own recall, that of his Lt. Gov Kleefisch, and enough state senators to maintain his slim legislative majority. He has a good plan to end Obozocare, is committed to deal with Obozo's sponsoring of the invasion by undocumented Demonrats and, if he gets to deal with the Islamofascists as POTUS, I am somewhat convinced that he will force Muhammed to rise from the grave, repent and instruct the Islamofascists to understand that he and they have always been wrong. I live in northern Illinois and often listen to Milwaukee talk radio. I have been following Walker there from state representative to Milwaukee County Board Chairman by recalling about half the Board for massive corruption, to governor, the recall the re-election. He hasn't got Rubio's sex appeal but he is only a few years older (47?) and I can tell you that Walker IS THE REAL DEAL. He has to get the poll numbers up.

Ted Cruz. I'd walk barefoot over hot coals for him anytime. He is the single best US Senator of this era, a worthy ally of Mike Lee, an obvious enemy of Mitch McConnell and all the other GOP-E whores whom I love to hate. Ted Cruz appointing YOUNG conservative successors to Ginsberg, Breyer and, maybe we get lucky, and discover indictable behavior by Kagan and Sotomayor to force their resignations (see Fortas, Abe) and the older conservatives when the time comes.

Carly Fiorina says a lot of the right things. She is useful as a one woman anti-Hilary division. Again, a cabinet position is far more likely than POTUS. She also has generated a lot of emotional resentment among computer professionals. SecCommerce? She should stay in to verbally finish off the Arkansas Medusa and then withdraw.

Romney Redux? Not in his lifetime. Not in God's lifetime! The single most despicable candidate EVER nominated by the GOP and he would have been no better than Obozo and maybe a bit worse since the GOP as a viable vehicle for conservative ideas and ideals would have been left in smoking ruins along with the US. Obozo can only destroy the country. Romney would have destroyed both. Don't care to live under Obozo-like policies? Get the message. The GOP-E is every bit as anti-God, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, nervous about GUNS in the hands of the peasants, "pro-normalization" of relations with every tinpot murderous dictator in the world so long as they and their US Chamber of Corrupt Cronyism buddies rake in the profits from the slave states and their slaves (so MUCH more profitable than employing labor free to organize and demand of the Lords of Wall Street higher wages and better working conditions than Third World slaves), anti-military in the sense of tying its hands to serve the agendas of every anti-American whiner on Earth including all too often their own snooty, useless, effete fashionable leftist offspring etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum ad nauseam.

Same old song and dance? You must be referencing the GOP-E's infernal insistence on nominating well-funded whores. That actual conservatives despise their whores too much to vote for them as POTUS is not an old song and dance. It is a newly emerging strategy. I it succeeds, we get to keep or country. If not, there is probably nowhere for us to flee to. As to the conservative resistance: Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the music!

Make a point of submitting to and joining with actual conservatives to nominate a candidate worthy of our votes for a change. Too much trouble? Toooooooo bad! Rule or ruin!

Otherwise, would you prefer as POTUS Hillary, Bernie, Old Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bill Ayres, Bernardine Doehrn, Al Sharpton, or someone similar????? Don't nominate someone worth voting for because one of that group is what we are going to get if the GOP-E continues to use oceans of corporate money on "moderate" losers.

You cannot head us off at the pass by asking ridiculously premature questions. We are making and have made lifetime commitments and NOT to the Republican Party as currently dominated by $$$$$$. Our commitments are to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, American exceptionalism, the protection of innocent human life and restoration of the good life for Americans JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE AMERICANS so long as they are willing to give a fair day's work for a fair day's wage and benefits. In short we favor social conservatism, RTKBA, military and foreign policy conservatism and, at least in my case, placing of what passes nowadays as economic conservatism on the back burner over a low flame for as long as it takes to achieve the goals of the other conservatisms.

No more GOP-E whores like Thad Cockroach, Nancyboy Kirk, Lisa Murkowski, Jeff Flake, John McCain, John Cornyn, Mitch McConnell, LAMAR!!! Alexander, Bob Corker, John Boehner, Kevin McCarthy, Steve Scalise, Adam Publicity Hound Kinzinger and their ilk.

Finally, we are at a VERRRRRRY early stage of this 2016 POTUS process. This is the time for thinning the herd. Jim Gilmore? Why? Out he goes. Linda Graham? Likewise. I would prefer a dignified withdrawal by Trump but that does not seem in the cards. Jebbie? Why? He is this year's ultimate Wall Street/K Street/USCofC whore. He is embarrassing himself (immigration, Common Core, willing to throw Dubya under the bus, looks FAR too much like his mother for whom I have no use, etc., and reflects his dad's passion for a "New World Order" and for verbal dishonesty). Want candid opinions of any whom I have not mentioned, just ask.

Ronaldus Maximus left DC a long time ago. Conservatives of the sort I have described owe the GOP ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. And we won't be helping them elect some whore. The peasants are revolting whether they like it or not. Muffy and Skipper can and probably will go straight to hell along with their overstuffed trust funds.

At this point in the process, we should insist that each and every candidate commit absolutely to support the party nominee, campaign for that nominee and be prepared to serve in any position offered. If not, winnow out any objector. If Trump continues to "hold his options open, Trump is fired and then destroying him becomes a top priority. The demand for party loyalty should be addressed to the candidates not to the conservatives. If conservatives get the policies we want, the GOP-E can have the contracts and money they crave and grovel for. If not, not!

If conservative principles are inconvenient to the GOP uber alles crowd, the principles are still the principles and will continue to be. Conservatives should use this time (now until a couple of weeks before Christmas, to thin the herd, settle on ONE acceptable candidate and use persuasion and the primaries to drive the rest out of the race).

Conservatives in the base decide what they want, policy and candidates, make credible demands to back up what they want and whom they want, bind the candidates (remember: Read my lips! No new taxes!, the lie that ended Bush the Elder's career) to promises. The candidates may and will lie and their lies become the instruments of their destruction. The only time that the people of this country seem to have any say so is in the nomination and election process.

Once the winner is sworn in, he or she will hallucinate that he or she has become a god.

With a good candidate from the many we can choose from and the pathetic quality of Her Satanic Majesty and the other Demonrat still on the bench, we probably kick the crap out of the Demonrats next year, retake the White Mosque for America, take a net of about 6 Senate seats and a few new governorships and some new Congresscritters and a raft of another several hundred state legislators (the future of our movement and our nation.

Huck didn’t run in 2012, you’re thinking of Gingrich, who is just as bad as Romney quite frankly despite prevailing wisdom here at the time, he would have lost worse though because he’s a jerk and a clown.

Anyway, there’s no arguing with the “I won’t vote for a RINO” crowd. You and I have a philosophical difference with them, no one is gonna change their mind for them. If you ask me 8 years of Obama prove that even a RINO like GW Bush (and I hate his guts and in the past had thought maybe it would have been better if Kerry had beat him) is much much better, and 4 years of Pelosi proved we need a Congress with as few rats as possible, PERIOD. If some people here got their wish we’d have an 80% dem Congress cause over half of Republicans are “RINO scum just as bad as the democrats”.

Personally I think Trump is a con man and no conservative but he’s more conservative than GD Hillary or Biden that’s for sure, I’m voting GOP for President, end of story. Anyone who runs third party is either a fool (Virgil Goode), insane megalomanic (TR in 1912), or wants to help the dems (Perot).

Voting for a candidate that can’t win has the same mathematical effect as not voting, whatever. If someone can’t stomach voting for a Romney or a Jeb or a Trump, fine, I disagree but can respect that.

Those that say they’d vote dem are outright insane though. Anyone who admits to voting D (in normal elections) should be banned from this site if you ask me, lucky for them this ain’t my rodeo.

Scalia and Thomas and Kennedy and Ginsberg are getting up there, losing this election is not an option.
